This was awhile ago, but this guy asked me out to dinner. When we got there he kept cutting me off during conversation to talk about himself, which was very off putting. Then when we were ordering, he talked over me and ordered a salad for me and steak for himself. I was pissed. So was my waitress. She rolled her eyes and asked me again what I wanted. I ordered ( chicken, rice and veggies). He looked at me disgusted and said I should have ordered just a salad to impress him because that’s what he prefers. I said “well I’m not trying to impress you, you asked ME out. And how is a salad impressive?” He started raising his voice at me and I told her to cancel my food and left. I took a cab home. He texted me saying I didn’t deserve him anyway. Ummmm…WHAT! One of the biggest douches I’ve come across.

i wouldnt have a problem if the 2 year old was brought along. even if unexpected. like...i get that finding a babysitter is unexpected but jumping into wanting to buckle down my personal life and not getting to know the kid first is a red flag. i told myself that if i had kids, my partner and kids would have to get along. if my kids did not like my partner, then the partner had to go. i hear so many of my friends sad or afraid of their parents step partner its heart breaking. like you wouldnt want it to be a happy safe and a healthy family

Yes but most of the single parents wait at least 6-8 months before introducing them. Because it can be very traumatic for both parties if you do it too early, only to break their hearts into pieces when you break up. Kids get attracted very quickly.

Was dating for the first time after being widoed. A guy dumped me during our first date because my kids had gone missing while playing in the park and I had to go and look for them. @@PhantomMagician1846 yes, and nothing against that, but every man that tells you "women HAVE to be housemakers" on the first date has zero respect for women. I once traveled an hour for a date and it was bad. I had my leg in a cast and crutches so moving was hard. The pain medication caused sweating. He told me at some point that my bangs look bad because they are all wet (it was 28°c out and the meds increased the sweating) then he proceeded to scroll Tinder throughout the date. Randomly he started talking about his weight and then just said "you would be so much prettier if you were 10kg lighter" out of nowhere.. then he had the audacity to say this date went well and we should see again. There was no second date

I kinda understand the Japanese-Korean one. My mom’s family is Korean, and my Grandma lived through when the Japanese occupied Korea. So many atrocities happened in that time, even to her little town, so even now in her 80s, she boycotts all Japanese goods. If the guy’s mother was alive in Korea during that time or heard stories, I could totally see why she wouldn’t be super enthused about her son dating a Japanese person. Of course not every person of Japanese descent had family that was a part of it, so the girl’s confusion is largely warranted, but just the ethnic association alone might bring up some bad history to the Korean guy’s family.

Boy, do I have a story for this! When I was freshly 18, a guy in my public speaking class messaged me and asked me out while we were doing a group project together. I found out shortly before the date that he was 30, but still went on it like an idiot because I felt bad declining him. On the date, I also found out he was a recently divorced single dad, and he showed me a picture of his son. I was still basically a child at that point and couldn't even comprehend taking on that kind of responsibility, so it was the most awkward date of my life. I told him afterwards that I just wanted to be friends, and then I ghosted him

Not mine, but heard this story from tiktok. A girl was having her first blind date with a guy, and JUST BRIEFLY mentioned that she used to have a boyfriend and quickly changed the subject. He then makes a disgusted look, got up and said TO HER FACE "I'm not into used women" and walk away, leaving her to pay the bill. Needless to say, that girl dodged a bullet.

There are still many Korean families that had a lot of trauma over the Japanese colonization of Korea, but I do think it is a bit unusual for a family in North America. The son is a bit TOO obedient to his elders. Wonder why?

Wasn’t a first date but in the first week of us trying to be a couple, he threatened to k*ll himself if we broke up…Then proceeded to say he “loved” me…. It wasn’t even a full week of us being together.😬
@kaileychambers6969 Жыл бұрын
I'm glad you got out before you were in too deep. Man that reminds me of my ex a little. We dated for a little over two years. Long story short the relationship started getting unhealthy for both of us so he broke up with me, although I did agree with that decision. We left things off on alright terms and said we might consider getting back together if things worked out that way, after a lot of self improvement on both sides alone. I was in a horrible place since my grandma had just passed and a lot of other life changes. After being single for a few weeks and reflecting on the relationship I started moving on and realized I couldn't see myself being happy with someone like him. The final straw was his hostile reaction when someone I had trusted kissed me without my consent. He started immediately trying to blame me and that was it. It gave me the uck and I knew there was no chance at regaining those feelings. I told him I had no interest in getting back together ever, and that sparked a whole long thing. I still cared about him and couldn't just stop caring, so I stupidly went to his house a couple more times when he needed someone to talk to. He flat out said he was gonna kill himself soon and the tone he said it in just chilled me to the bone. I didn't know what to say or do. He knows that's a really triggering topic for me, that I've made an attempt on my life before, and considering one of his exes pulled the same thing on him I couldn't believe he could do that to me. I've tried getting him to seek therapy on several occasions and I kinda just decided that if he wasn't willing to get help, I wasn't going to let him make my mental state any worse. We fought on Halloween and haven't really talked since though, so I'm feeling a bit better about the whole situation now. I've been really tempted to check in on him but I just can't deal with all that right now, and after having the space to realize how emotionally manipulative he got sometimes, I know it's not a good idea. Even out of the relationship he's still triggering my anxiety, but at least now it's not purposely. Sorry for the long message and trauma dumping. Haven't had therapy in a couple weeks and I've lost everyone I would normally talk to so I just needed to get it out.
@buukss Жыл бұрын
@@kaileychambers6969 Hi, I'm glad you were able to get it out! It's still going to be difficult to avoid checking up on him, but you, especially in the state you're in, can't help him. You can wish him well, but you can't help him. Those two can coexist; caring about someone, and understanding you can't be of help to them. Your mental health matters more than he does, so please, do only what will make you maintain mental healthiness. So even if he does reach out to apologise, choose yourself and avoid continuing the 'friendship' with him. Don't be his confidante, don't confide in him. Remove him from your personal space both physically and emotionally, and maintain that distance. Focus on how you can work on being in the best possible place mentally and healing from the emotional manipulation, and keeping busy at attaining your life goals, and prioritize that over every care or emotions you have for him. You have to be resolute on your decision to, too. Or else the emotional burden won't ever be lifted, and you'd be worse for it. Love you!
@kaileychambers6969 Жыл бұрын
@@buukss Thank you, this was really encouraging and I feel more sure of my decision now than ever. I already know he won't reach out to apologize cause he never thinks anything is his fault when it comes to important things, and after the fight and how I was responding to his texts I actually think he's planning on leaving me alone permanently. I'm starting to have my concern shrink a bit so I'm hoping I can get to a point that I don't have to be worried about him anymore. Our whole relationship and a bit after the break up I've always given him the benefit of the doubt that maybe he wasn't aware that he was triggering my anxiety so much, but after his responses to me moving on I can't fully believe he wouldn't do that on purpose. I kept wishing him well, acknowledging his mental health wasn't great either but things do get better. He kept saying stuff like "Probably won't" and just rejecting anything I tried to say to be nice. He knows I've been struggling with depression for over half a decade now at this point so that was kind of a slap in face to all my efforts to help myself get better on top of just being annoying to deal with. Anytime I'm tempted to reach out I just remember that that's the kind of responses waiting for me, and that makes me refrain from doing so. Thanks again for the encouragement and support, I'm pretty short on that these days. I hope you have a wonderful day!
