I once had a teacher who did not like giving us test and only gave us mandatory tests and then also optional tests like basically study guides. When we would get a test he would ask if we wanted to test him or if he should take the same test with us. He didn't always sit on his phone until after he was done and we were allowed to do that too as long as it wasn't against the rules. I learned more from that Spanish teacher than my other 2.

I had a teacher this year in virtual learning. I’m in an advanced curriculum so many of us were doing great with our grades. No one was failing except those people who disappeared behind their black boxes and never did anything. She gave us 100s as long as we were listening. Like she would say “put y in the chat if you are hearing this” and she would use them to progressively take “attendance” which she also made a grade so we were able to have 100s to balance out any lower grades. Loved her and I wish I had class in school with her.

The thing about being honest, I find myself to be faking my words and concerns quite often. Whenever a friend confides in me about their concerns, I encourage them and tell them words of advice and say that I understand, when in reality I don't feel anything. I just speak what I think should be spoken, and that's why I struggle to have deep convos face to face or on the call as I can't fake my expressions or my voice. I want to be genuinely concerned for them and give them comfort from my heart but I'm unable to do so.

I do this, and its when someone is telling you about something bad that just happened and your='re like 'same', I genuinely don't mean to do this to be rude or mean or try to invalidate you, I just want to relate to you on some sort of level, tryin to fix it tho, going well so far
@onyxx73743 жыл бұрын
IM NOT INVALIDATING YOUR COMMENT!!! IM RELATING!!! Explanation: see when people open up to me, I have a mental disability and part of it is a thing called impostor syndrome, so to try to hide my disability so people think I'm normal, my first reaction is to try to relate to them. it makes me come across as rude and insensitive, but it's really the opposite. me telling you a relatable story when you open up doesn't mean I DON'T care, it means I DO care I have to explain this to new people so they don't think I'm super self-absorbed. I've given up masking (trying to hide my symptoms and disability to try to appear "normal") and just decided to communicate what the heck is going on. So I'm free to try to relate to people without making them even more upset!! The people I'm closest to actually have told me that now that they know about my masking and impostor syndrome, they genuinely feel comforted because my 'relatable stories' remind them they're not alone and people understand Am careful to avoid using tons of "I" and "Me" when texting tho, even if it's just rephrasing the sentence to take those two words out

Yeah I started with friend, people I was cool with, then the teacher. Then I rote a note for a boy I didn't really like. The nicest thing I could put was "your really cool" even though I didn't like him. After a minute of reading he then shout out my note loud. Everyone else was trying see who wrote that. Luckily no one suspected it was me. I felt embarrassed until lunch cause food.

Something really similar happened to me in 5th grade, where some girl was really good at gymnastics and I had always wished I were more flexible or could do some of those cool things she did, so when our teacher told us to write positive notes I wrote for her ‘I admire your flexibility’ and when she received it she made fun of the note in front of the whole class like ‘who wrote this weird note’. People would think that I'm proud of failing classes. I'm not proud I'm failing. If I don't get the mark I wanted, I'm suddenly in a bad mood. I'm proud of the fact that I went from a 35& to a 45% to a 55% and then to a 76%. (In science.) Even though I didn't get the mark I wanted I still changed the mark on my report card so that's what I'm proud about. I hate when people get annoyed by the fact that I'm happy of what I accomplished. So ain't nobody coming at me like that.

I'll just say that 1. You shouldn't say "doesn't care about your existence" Every celebrity cares about their fans! 2. Yes it IS wrong to bully someone just because they don't like that celebrity but if someone is behaving as a jerk and throwing insults at the celebrity, imo, it is okay to try and convince them or like have an argument. Bullying and calling names is still out of question but a simple argument is fine.

My grandpa always puts the other line on speaker and talks loudly on the phone to the point you can hear the other line clearly from the backyard. Also Yesterday I went to the doctor. I was in the waiting room feeling really uncomfortable because this man 60-65 years old at least, put his phone on speaker and spoke loudly in the office (I'd be surprised if my doctor didn't hear him from inside the office.) I heard him talking to his wife or something about some 25 year old woman with brown hair brown eyes. I felt creeped out because I fit his description except I'm turning 20 in October. He was talking about a woman right in front of him. I was in front of him. Creepy asf. I'm shocked about the fact no one was annoyed or at least didn't call him out

I do put my phone on loud speaker, and thats because my speaker is busted so I can't really hear what the other person is saying. However if I did carry my earphones then I normally use them

I am one of those people that uses my cellphone on speaker in public. Not in buses though! like on the street. I'm a fairly young woman and I feel safer if other people know that I'm busy, plus I just can't hear that well and the speakerphone helps a lot. So that's why I use speakerphone in public.

4:20 I use speaker when I get a call on my cellphone (be it on public or not), and I hate to do that, because I don’t want other people hearing my conversations, but I don’t have any other option because my phone is broken (has been for some years now) and there is no sound the normal way, to be able to hear anything at all I have to press my phone really hard to my ear and even so I can’t understand anything that the other person is saying, I hear someone talking but that’s all, I can’t understand a single word they are saying, maybe some here and there. So, that may also be why other people do that, maybe it doesn’t work and they don’t have money to repair the phone (like me) and maybe they don’t have earphones (like me, again) or maybe, like she said, maybe they can’t hear anything, maybe because of a hearing problem (like my mother, who also has to use her phone on speaker, although in public she really tries to understand first and if she doesn’t then she puts it in speaker as a last resort) or something like that, who knows 🤷♀️ Also maybe some people just like to let everyone know their conversations, we will never know exactly why it is that some people do that

I never knew putting your cellphone was considered as ignorant. Even if it’s because I can’t put it to my ear because I’m walking. .....
