Won my teenage daughter a spot at an ice cream “social” featuring Vance Joy, the guy with the ukulele song “Riptide.” He was completely miserable, but not because of the fans. His management treated him like a toddler, leading him from one person to another and timing out his time with each person to the second. My daughter wound up being more interested in the specialty ice cream truck that catered than Vance. He was just so out of it and so joyless.

I went to Dragon Con here in Atlanta in 2018. I went to the Stranger Things panel and Gaten and Caleb were there. I have severe anxiety but I love acting. I was shaking so bad when I asked a question the person with the mic helped me ask. Gaten was so nice about my question about overcoming anxiety while acting. I was in Slytherin cosplay and I told him my name but I doubted he would remember me. I left the panel early because I had purchased a pass to get a picture with him and the time selected was right after the panel. I was first in line and my parents were standing there calming me down while strangers asked to take pictures with me. I go back first as I am first in line. Gaten looks at me, smiles, and says "I hope I helped by answering your question Tessa. Don't worry about anxiety as long as you love what you are doing. I'm sure you'll be a great actress." I swear I died.

I work for British Airways & in February before Lockdown I worked an LAX flight & in Buisness/Club World was movie director Paul WS Anderson & his daughter Ever, who is the spitting image of her mother Milla. I was professional & stuck to my job, I literally waited for the very end of the flight to approach him so I didn’t disturb him while he was resting/eating. I was polite & talked about how much I like his films, especially Event Horizon. I never criticised as that would be extremely rude, especially in front of his daughter. He was very nice & he seemed to enjoy the conversation before I had to get ready for landing. As he was walking out the aircraft, he held out his hand, I shook it & he said “You made my flight sir, thank you very much.” Still makes me smile when I tell this story.

My nan's all like who's that guy? Oh that's Elvis he's been stationed here for a while (chicksands base), Now my nan was a huge fan of his, of course starts fan girling But doesn't want to be rude, well later in the night as my grandparents are still dancing, guess who asks to cut in? I was in the University of Louisville marching band the year that Extreme Home Makeover did Patrick Hughes' house. They also did our marching band field. I didn't care to actually meet Ty Pennington, and being outside at night in November in KY doing the same shot 5 times made me never want to be on TV ever again. Edit: I didn't care to meet him because Ty got to sit in a heated tent between shots while we froze our asses off standing outside in our band uniforms
@cchastant82514 жыл бұрын
So... not really meeting him, just chances from time to time to "look upon his magnificence." Or something like that, I suppose? The heated tent... They have a lot of money tied up in famous people. They catch a bad cold, they aren't going to be able to do as much glad-handing, smiling and talking to people. For you, it was one night. For him... He likely does this sort of thing often. Not saying it didn't suck for you. More, that "they" (those in charge) thought that "you" (the band/others on site) wouldn't mind so much suffering for one night to be close to their famous person.
@sunbowrainflower4 жыл бұрын
@@cchastant8251 no, we had the choice to speak with him directly after filming. He seemed pretty personable. But it was freezing. Several of us left as soon as they finished the shoot. There was also the shoot when they finished Patrick's house, but I didn't attend that one.

I'll share mine. I was working security at a resort and I'm a humongous Bruce Campbell fan I literally seen all this movies and read his book. Well when I came on duty that morning my captain of the site looked back at me and he said "dude don't be weird". I started laughing and I said well I'm always weird and he kept insisting that I need to tone it down. I shrugged and kind of laughed it off. I had to go fill in for the receptionist for her break. And I looked up and there he was the charming handsome Bruce Campbell. I made some kind of borderline crazy chuckle. While watching his face come to a smile. I will always took my job very seriously and is professional as possible but my God it's Bruce fucking Campbell. My boss had already filled him in and that I was a humongous fan of his. It was the only time I was ever starstruck in my life I had to show him the tattoo on my leg of him holding the shotgun what the chainsaw hand. I honestly thought I was going to creep him out but I ended up bumping into him again almost like a creepy stalker at a restaurant across from the resort. I spent several hours with him just laughing and talking about other shit. And of course I had to get a phone call and my ringtone was the Bruce Campbell song by psychostick. I looked over at Bruce and he just looked at me and he just shook his head and laughed and I shrugged. That was my crowning moment in life. Hail to the King baby

Didn't win a contest. Was working as a cashier, and did my usual, reading the shirt my customer was wearing: "Careful, or I'll put you in my next novel." I'd been a fan of this certain local author for years, but at this point they hadn't started adding her picture to the backs of her books, and they'd only JUST started (three books into the series) publishing them first in hardback, so I'd not seen a picture of her. So. Read her shirt, looked at her. "Are you...?" She smiled, and agreed she was. So she's an author. Then it clicked. With building excitement, "Are you...?" Again, she seemed to know exactly what I meant, and agreed. Then we dove into discussing her books, books in general, her book collection (in numbers of paper boxes containing them, due to home renovations at that time), and other random things. Not sure I've ever been so happy someone had so much for me to ring up for them before, but... it was very, very lovely chatting with Patricia Briggs that night. Also crossed paths with her once at Radcon, and gave her a small gift as a token of my thanks (other than buying her books!) for writing so many stories I've enjoyed reading so very much. Didn't even think of asking for an autograph either time, nor photos.

The following night my mum's partner was photographing the Darwen (I think), Lancashire Christmas lights switch on and like 3 days later Janet Devlin put a video of clips of her travelling to both. I later said to them both "you know when you went to the Christmas lights switch on, was there anybody there who you might have thought I'd like to see?" And they both basically said "oh yeah, Janet Devlin was there"... "Why was I not told?" And my mum's partner jokingly said "we knew she would be there, but didn't tell you for her safety"... I went to Alton Brown’s live show and brought one of his published cookbooks with me and waited until everyone left the theater and waited by the stage praying with all my heart and asked one of the guards if they could have him sign it and it came back with it signed and I was giddy beyond belief. because I live in such a small state and city it’s often that people will go to the back of the theater to see if they can see the performers leaving at the end of the night and this night was no different so I ended up getting to meet him as well and get a picture and another autograph on the program book that I had. nicest person and I legit started crying after I met him I was so happy

Before I was even born Michael Jordan was my families neighbor and he somewhat became a family friend, and as the only two black girls in their class my sister and his daughter became close friends and our house was the only house Michael allowed his daughter to go to. All other play dates had to be done at their house. My mom still talks about how awkward it was having body guards stand outside all day long and how the daughter would hide when she had to go home. My sister and her are still good friends to this day.

I honestly think it has more to do with when you meet them than who they are in general. Saw Bruce Campbell at a Q&A after a screening of My Name is Bruce, and he seemed pretty ambivalent about being there. Honestly, I would have been too, like... 80% of the questions asked by randos in the crowd could have been answered with "buy my autobiography". Hell, I'd just finished reading it, and his responses were VERBATIM what he'd written. It was actually pretty funny. In contrast, I also saw him at the first Madison ComicCon, and he seemed to be having a good time. There was a world of difference in how engaged he was on that stage, and he seemed pretty friendly during the signing.

Didn't win a contest, but I've hung out with Dryden Mitchell several times after his band Alien Ant Farm played a show. The first time was coincidentally the first time AAF played in my hometown. Tye was still in the band and apparently left to some Fan's house in the area. My cousin and my best friend were with me, and Dryden invited us onto the bus! He offered coke (none of us did drugs tho) and he showed me several songs he recorded with musicians from Papa Roach and another band I can't remember. The songs sounded fantastic and I told him they should release them, but he said he wasn't into the music. Another time my wife and I bought Dryden and Mike drinks; and finally the last time my wife and I hung out with Dry and his girlfriend/wife. It sucks that AAF aren't as popular as I think they should be, but it's better that way cuz they'll play smaller clubs rather than giant arenas. Makes for intimate shows, and a chance to hang with the band

When I was around 11, me and my friend were hanging on the gate by the golf course. Some dude in a golf cart came up and introduced himself. Me and my friend were kinda like, yea, yea, whatever. But then a dude behind them told us that he was a celebrity. I asked for his name. His name was Phil Mickelson. We had just blown off an opportunity to get an autograph from Phil Mickelson.

All I said was “damn, you’re tall “ and then I walked away.

I don't really like the ones who till the end to tell you who it was. Its not really a "big reveal" because it's not like it's ever anybody you can't imagine. It just makes the beginning of the story boring.

Didn't win but years ago me and my young sons had to go to their hockey tournament in St. Paul Minn. Big snow storm (typical) We were getting gas and sons got out to pump for mommy awww. Angry voice came from loud speaker saying they couldn't do that according to law. Then all of a sudden there was PRINCE telling them to go ahead and pump. Then he went inside, came out and told them they could pump. I'm sitting in car with open window in total shock!!! He was so nice to them, then got into nice car and left. He just happened to be there with friend who was getting gas and heard loud speaker. When I went inside to pay I was told my gas was already paid for by Prince and both employees were freaking out. AWSOME SNOW STORM!!! We were from WI and didn't have that you have to be so tall or old or whatever it was law. Both boys got older and pumping gas was NOT cool anymore!! :-(

Not a celebrity, but I met a real survivor of a concentration camp. Got to hear his stories of how he cut the neck of a German officer while shaving him. And because he was forced to by the officer, another higher ranked officers stopped the man from shooting him and chastised the man for forcing a hair sweeper to shave him. Also how he stole gold teeth from dead people!

Keanu Reeves: I would tell him that I hope he always remains humble, charitable and kind. Morgan Freeman: That man's words reach far and wide. He should really exploit this.

When my dad was younger he worked at an airport. While on break he allegedly got to play an arcade game with Slash. Dad said the rest of the band were waiting around the airport as well. Though dad seemed more excited about the game with Slash when he told me the story. Quick edit: My mom has told me that when she saw Bryan Adams in concert, he kneeled down and sung to her. Nothing special I guess. Then the story did a fucking 180 because apparently my mother rubbed his leg. Honest to God why?

He wasn't =my= cup of tea, but he was considered quite attractive/desirable around the time Robinhood, Prince of Thieves came out, and "All For Love" was topping the charts. (shrugs) I didn't really care for the song all that much, likely because it was murdered by over-play on the radio.
