their platonic chemistry and their friendship is absolutely adorable and really interesting. this compared to/combined with interviews from when the first movie came out give me the vibes that they def had feelings for each other at some point back then, maybe at different times like a “just missed each other” situation. then, the movie was out and their work life together was over (for a few years anyways), and like she mentioned here they semi-lost touch at points. now they’re both in very healthy and loving marriages (at least from public’s pov) with kids, and are still friends and have this unique bond from all those years ago. almost like high school-almost-sweethearts but make the high school a sound stage/motion capture studio circa 2007-2008.
