The GoGos were basically a bubble gum LA group who actually thought they were a punk band, which is quite laughable that their perspective was more wishful than realistic. Delusion is huge amongst Hollywood films too, they go hand in hand trying to capture the other raw talent out there, but miss the mark and don’t get the essence. The GoGos mostly had a sound because of Jane, and that’s it. The wardrobe and hair were weak. They tried at least. I liked the songs, but it’s important to own being a bubblegum band instead of actually thinking ur The Sex Pistols and saying ur a punk band when ur far from it. 😢

The Go Go's themselves say they were the first to be that successful. That's a much better way to put it. There were a number of all-female bands that came before them.
