Without a doubt, had the plaintiff not witnessed the accident, the daughter defendant would have driven off and never told anyone about hitting the neighbor's car. Still, 18 is an adult. The only thing I could figure is that it was the dad’s insurance that would have paid if he had been honest and admitted the claim was legit. So once he lied and the insurance denied the claim, the plaintiff should have sued both driver and dad.

The Defendant is complaining the insurance company didn't contact him until August. That's because they jerked the Plaintiff around for months. I went through the same thing. Guy rear ended me and there were scratches on the bumper. Told the guy I would get an estimate and work it out directly. It was an Audi so of course it was like $1k. He got super pissed and tried to blow me off. I just went through insurance.
