after my first rented room I stopped giving deposits. People rent out space in their house when they're having financial problems, generally speaking. They're not going to set that money to the side to give back to you later. They're going to use it to get current on bills or whatever, and tell themselves they'll replace it by the time you move out. Of course that won't happen.

I disagree with Judge Milan. The police were called on the 8th for the plaintiff being locked out. The defendant was told by the policy she can't lock her out. So it was an illegal eviction! Listen to about 8:35 in the video. When the Judge said the plaintiff was confusing being picked up and thrown out as opposed to having an actual eviction notice. It IS an illegal lock-out when the defendant locked her out!! That's why the cops were called!!! Even people on a month to month have a right! So on the 18th, the plaintiff decided she can't live there for obvious reasons. Florida statute states for a month to month either party can terminate by giving not less than 30 days notice. Title VI chapter 83, 83.57. The defendant locked her out without notice. I also don't like that the Judge glossed over the fact that the defendant told her she videod the plaintiff's room in July. Judge commented but did not take that into consideration.

You definitely don't understand the law, if the landlord locked her out and never let her back in would be an illegal lockout. The law isn't you get 3 times your rent back just cuz you had a disagreement and the police had to come. She got back in the same day so you are wrong just like the plaintiff 🤷🏽‍♀️

I think the lease didn't qualify as a "year long lease" because of how it was worded. So technically, the Plaintiff only had a month to month. No double damages on a month to month, only a year long lease. Also, why are both of them filming each other's rooms? Both rooms looked like a nightmare. I can't imagine living with either of them, after seeing that.
