Just to clarify, Pep signed Lewandowski in his second season (2014/15). It was Gotze who was signed before Pep took over in 2013. Because Fergie won the most premier league titles even in Scotland where he stopped Celtic and Rangers from dominating which is more than anything that Pep could do. Also, Fergie didnt have an enormous budget everywhere he went. The likes of Jurgen Klopp and Hansi Flick are all better than him at the moment. One more reason why Pep won the premier league was Vincent Kompany. He failed to replace him last season now he is relaying Dias and Stones. I'm not saying he isn't a good manager but he is not as good as he was

Well people claim Jose is past it, but Pep only won the European Cup one year more recently than him. Hell, he only won it three years more recently than Fergie and he's been retired over seven years. I don't think Pep is overrated, but zero European Cups in 9.5 years whilst managing Barcelona, Bayern, and Man City for 8.5 of the years is pretty poor. Especially considering that those clubs have won three European Cups since 2011 under different managers.

Pep is a great manager, but in the B level of great managers. He never won without a superclub budget. Bayern won before and after him. City won before him, and will after him. Barca won before him and after him, but at least you can say his Barca was significantly superior to the sides in the recent past or recent future of his arrival/departure. That was more than a decade ago though. Since then, he hasn't done anything another manager wouldn't have done with the same resources.

I do not know if Lewandowski transfer can be attributed to Guardiola. In the beginning Guardiola was not at all ecstatic about playing Lewy. Lewandowski coming to Bayern on a free transfer was more of a sly Bayern management move than Guardiola desperately wanting Lewandowski. Bayern has been dropping hints to Lewy for the last 2 years of his contract in Borussia. Even before it was known that Guardiola would come to Bayern.
