Driver Error or Truck Failure? A Bad Day Gets Worse for This Driver. Talk about having a BAD day! This poor guy broke down at the worst possible time, while trying to back up his tractor trailer into a loading dock. He was stuck for hours before being referred to Pepe's Tow. I was working with Alex and the call came in as much worse than it was. We responded with Hulk, a 50ton rotator, and Big Flipper, a 75ton rotator.
From the one zoomed in picture we got, I thought this was going to be a full on recovery job. I was first told the trailer was going to stay at the facility, then I would tow the tractor to the dealer. Unfortunately the driver was not thinking straight and did not communicate clearly so our original plan was scrapped once the owner of the facility came out and said he can't leave the trailer.
To make matters worse, it was a Saturday and the following Monday was a holiday, which meant the dealer would be closed for days. No worries, I called my dad and he brought a tractor so we can split everything and tow them separately to store until the following Tuesday.
Sure, it's not our craziest job but man I had fun with this one; even with all the change of plans and lack of communication. Those make the job interesting!
Don't forget to head to www.pepestowla.com/shop after the video and grab your cool Pepe's swag to represent your favorite tow company!

It is not a language barrier, it is a cultural barrier. Folks from India and Pakistan are some of the most keen negotiators in the world, and the "language" barrier was his way of negotiating. He knew he couldn't leave the trailer in the dock, but hoped that once it was there, the owner would have no choice but to let it stay (much cheaper than towing and storing it).

Every time "The Boss" shows up, the video gets better. Despite a few communication issues, in the end you did what needed to be done to help this driver out. Breaking down on a holiday weekend SUCKS!! This driver can relax knowing that his load and equipment are safe for the weekend. Job well done!!!!

The coolest thing watching this video is hearing the respect that you have for your Dad and the happiness you have in Your voice that he is there to help you. I also love that older Peterbuilt truck your Dad is driving. The colors are old school but still looking like new. You are blessed to still have your Dad working with you at "Pepe's Towing". GOD bless your families for the upcoming holidays 2023.

I admire the way you were able to deal with the "miscomunication" without losing your cool. I have just finished a marathon of "PEPE"S Tow" and each of the videos your politeness to the public, customers is great. One obious reason that the company has grown. To all the people who made rude comments, I hope you enjoy your easy chair or coffee with a tablet. It reminds me of the time my oldest brother told a man who was grumbling about how his generation did a job better "Yeah, that was when the winter was colder and the snow deeper" Thnaks again for the new video!

Major kudos to Alex!!!! No mean feat to back up the T/T combo with the tractor front wheels in the air, backing downhill into a dark hole, and managing to steer it into the dock - while only controlling it with ONE cable, gravity, and a rotator! GREAT JOB! MEAN SKILLS!!!

This guy is a steering wheel holder not a legit truck driver. He clearly doesn't know how to check and maintain his fluids(which caused this issue). Any one with common sense does a daily pre and post trip inspection...especially a truck driver.

Wow, what a language barrier. I too thought the driver told you he could keep the trailer at the customer. I didn't think so. Tow to your yard & charge him for storage, you got to get him off the middle of the street. He may have no money, but that's trucking. He's got to prepare for these issues. Trailer storage is minimum $500.00 per day, any where. This drivers going to need to book a room at an "Extended Stay Hotel".
