did you just say $3000 ? that's ridiculously expensive.
@MobileMustHave
@MobileMustHave 2 жыл бұрын
that is correct. Keep in mind this is an SDWAN bonding router that can combine 2x 5G cellular connections into a unified tunnel with the option to add a 3rd via the USB port. While expensive, this is lower cost than just about any other product capable of doing multi-wan bonding (up to 7 simultaneous bonded wan connections).

Absolutely! You would just want to confirm your data plan also works in Alaska!

Starting to dive into these for an on-location production vehicle to do live-streams. Saw the bonding technology but you need a Speedfusion instance on a second location or the monthly cloud fee. Would you recommend this or perhaps another product to try and accomplish the live stream uploads on location? Basically, won't know what service/what coverage until we get there and bonding a local wifi, event wifi, or wired ethernet connection would be a deal maker.

you can bond any connection and configure any traffic to use (or not use the speedfusion tunnel). It is completely customizable. I'd recommend joining our membership and checking out our member resource center on peplink specifically around speedfusion, VLAN customization and traffic customization to help optimize how this works and understand how you can use this at each location depending on your available resources. We encourage most customers to only use speedfusion when they need to to save on the bandwidth but at 1TB of traffic for $40 its pretty reasonable and you can always route secondary traffic around the tunnel (for example uploads of large files etc that dont require a super stable connections) checkout membership.mobilemusthave.com for more details on the memberships.

Great video! Sorry if these are dumb questions but: 1) can you plug an external cell antenna, eg on the outside of your mast, into this? And 2) why are there 2 SIM cards for each modem?
@MobileMustHave
@MobileMustHave Жыл бұрын
No worries. There are two sims for added flexibility. Let's say you had a 50gb sim in slot and a 50gb in slot b the modem could use up the 50gb in the first slot then automatically move to slot 2 when the data was exhausted. Alternatively, you could have a Tmobile Sim in slot A and a Verizon in slot B and have the router switch from each sim if the first sim went offline to ensure it stayed connected. This is in addition to the dual modems which also provided added redundancy. External antennas can be connected easily via the SMA connectors on the device. Any external antenna on our store typically will have SMA connectors that fit this device for roof antennas. Here is a video on a typical roof antenna installation. kzbin.info/www/bejne/hIebgZuXhruKnK8

@@MobileMustHave thanks for such a quick reply! Does your website show what the coverage map is for your cellular plans? eg I assume it includes all of US continental but does it include USVI, Puerto Rico, etc?
@MobileMustHave
@MobileMustHave Жыл бұрын
@@en8581 for the majority of our plans if the area you're looking at is considered domestic coverage by the major carrier supporting the plan then you should be covered at those locations. For the two places you mentioned these are considered domestic to the US on Verizon and also on other major carriers but you can reach out to us directly concerning a specific plan and we can check with the provider if necessary.

Will my existing Cradllepoint 9-in-1 antenna work with the Max BR2?

I would verify that antenna is 8LTE as the only one I currently am aware of is 4xLTE, 4xWIFI and 1xGPS. We do have an antenna optoin coming available very soon ;)

what kind of cell plans do you use on any of these? do you get third party data plans meant for tablets and they just work?
@MobileMustHave

This is a hotspot device on the carriers network so you need hotspot device. We do offer plans, but carriers have been slow to provide high Gb plans that run on 5G. Even tho their marketing is pushing 5G strong... 🙄

Thanks for your video. But if the BR2 Pro only connected 2 sets of external antennas, will it not work or affect the performance?
@MobileMustHave
@MobileMustHave Жыл бұрын
all cellular antennas are connected (total of 8). The antenna leads not connected are for wifi and will not affect performance. They will affect maximum capacity as a mobile router with 4 wifi antennas can handle larger client density but for the average user this will not impact performance unless you are hosting an event outside your rv with over 50 devices for example attempting to connect. In those instances the higher powered (and higher cost) MBX may be a better fit or you could simply add a secondary access point via the access point controller. The antenna we sell in our bundle also has the correctly matched number of wifi antennas to ports for this router. Bundle: mobilemusthave.com/pages/ultimate-road-warrior-5g-internet-bundle

@@MobileMustHaveWhen an external antenna needs to be connected, for example, only connect 1 set Maritime 10G or Maritime 20G or other 5G cellular antennas. Will the BR2 Pro not work properly or have other effects if the 8 cellular antennas are not fully connected (Above situation)?

Does this Peplink MAX BR1 Pro 5G | All-In-One 5G Support e-Sim?
@MobileMustHave
@MobileMustHave Жыл бұрын
It does however esim is limited to Peplink data plans at this time (which arent a great deal). They are working on true esim and when ready we are told it will then work with all esim routers but nothing is confirmed 100% yet on that.

our routers are international compatible. You would need to check your cellular carrier and verify which cellular bands they use and then check the spec sheets for each router you are interested in to verify compatibility but typically you will have a fairly good set of international compatibility with CAT 20/5G devices as well as mandy CAT 7 or CAT 12 devices. We can also special order certain international models if needed once you know which cellular bands are required.

Im researching out all the internet options out there, mostly the bundles mobilemusthave. I am concerned about making such a costly purchase and then in 1-2 years, having to replace it with the latest and greatest. I know there are updates to these routers along the way, but how long will these be viable before having to replace hardware.
@MobileMustHave
@MobileMustHave Жыл бұрын
Right now is a decent time to buy because a model refresh just occurred across the entire model lineup in our bundles. Typically we tell customers to expect a 3 year lifecycle with any technology but if your happy with the technology performance on day one unless your requirements change making newer technology desirable I dont think you need to run out and upgrade unless you feel those features are worth it. We started the bulk of our business in 2019 and 80+% of our customers are still operating on the same hardware.
