This show was late to the game being mostly centered around NES in 1992. Most people had moved on to the SNES (or the Genesis) long before this show aired. Should've either come out in 88 or focused mostly on 16 bit.

Maybe it was so low budget that they could only afford NES games. They had some good ones mixed in but they also gave away A LOT of crappy games that I'm assuming were cheaper than the good ones. They also never used 1st party Nintendo games for some reason.

hellz yeah.yeah, dude. so many of those Video Power games were bargain bin games, and there were NO first party nintendo games if you notice - no mario, no zelda, no metroid, no kirby, no ice climbers, no kid icarus - but there were some third party classics like Batman and Duck Tales. But as often as I see the Immortal game on the show, its reviews must have suuuuucked for the company to donate so many of them. I still have real dreams at night about running through a game store and grabbing shit. It's less about the software inside and more about the experience of "getting" games/the social fun that can result from it.

To be fair, this show was only seen in syndication, and was made by Saban, who was non-union, so they probably could not afford Nintendo's price, which could have been insane.
