@drek9k29 күн бұрын
Wait are you sure these laws are up to date??? I hadn't heard of any of this. @@doctordadiloveyou8806 See that was the other thing I was wondering and it kinda pisses me off trying to find information because New York City has its own completely separate legal and tax code which is distinct from the rest of the state but every time I want to laugh at something or to make a point I will look up "laws on X in New York" but fucking New York Cityers like to just call themselves New Yorkers as if the rest of their state didn't exist. So as a result I'll keep seeing people say things like "you can not possess a knife over 4" in New York" this is not true, there are no concealed carry or open carry laws nor length restrictions in New York; there are however severe restrictions on knives in New York CITY. Likewise, in many of these circumstances I am finding that, say, Illinois laws, or California laws, or Washington laws, I am typically looking more at like what LA county and the city of Los Angeles has to say about that, or what Washington D.C., Portland, Chicago and so on has to say which far as I can tell is usually quite distinct from the whole rest of the state, and any of the shitty laws being inflicted on those states is usually directly the result of some dumbass liberal politicians dwelling in their densest urban zone who is in turn trying to fuck up the rest of the state. Case in point, New York City. Yet despite all that nobody else has to pay their shitty NYC taxes (they drop an additional 2.5% income tax and all sort of other taxes, did you know that a pack of cigarettes cost twenty f'ing dollars USD there??? I'm not kidding. They have additional NYC taxes on top of state and federal) nor does anyone else need to follow the garbage NYC knife laws most of which outside air gauge, ballistic, and switchblade bans actually applies outside NYC. Also evidently both NYC dropped the "gravity knife" ban a few years ago (owing to the fact it applied to literally folding pocket knives and sent countless innocent men and women to Rikers for merely possessing a pocket knife for work that got loose on the hinges, anything you can flick open with your wrist was called "a gravity knife" before the repeal in 2019) and Massachussetts repealed the switchblade ban last year. But otherwise, yes these and California plus D.C. and Chicago is among the shittiest self defense laws in the country, pretty ironic given the fact that a) these "liberal, social justice" states have the highest prison populations in the country and that often specifically target poor people, and b) they also are pretty well renown for having among the worst crime rates. So all these gang bangers is just shipping in illegal guns anyway, and it's not like a switch or balisong is getting used in much crime anyway (beside why tf would you? Who tf is going to carry an illegal knife as a convicted felon doing gang stuff, when you can just carry a big hunting knife that'll do the job better, and probably look scarier too while we're at it consider that seems to be the running theme on what proglib r3tards ban anyway). In terms of pepper spray, stun guns, tazers, batons, and the like, how much of this is actually applicable to New York as opposed to NYC? Because apparently Rochester also has even more ridiculous laws but Northeast states often have commonwealth laws and also locality laws, so that for example in Rochester the blade length limit is 3" while in NYC it's 4" and statewide there is no length limit on knives. In MA you can legally own and carry a switchblade, despite all the other ridiculous restrictions on anything from blowguns to stun guns to throwing stars (iirc nunchuks are also banned there), however there is some shitty cities like I think Salem and Worcester that still ban those and other things. Likewise in California, what you can have in Los Angeles, isn't always the same as say out near the redwoods in Northern Cali. Like when I was looking at NY weapon laws I don't even remember seeing any of these restrictions on pepper spray or stun guns at all for example.

@@TheBrunswicksfinest I wouldn't go that far. Like I'd much rather be caught lacking a shitty 4" OTF switchblade in NYC and have a baseball bat in my trunk, than having no baseball bat and be caught with a switch. Depending where you are, a knife of all things can result in some very real and very serious charges, also it depends on if you have some sort of a record or not. The amusing thing to me is, as OP has pointed out Wisconsin has some crazy ass pepperspray laws despite having concealed carry and being a gun state. Many places is like this actually, even NY, you can still have shotguns and rifles, in Cali or some other blue state, guns is fine as long as it isn't a concealed handgun, but God help you for carrying an OTF blade (for some fucking reason, it makes liberal radfem boomer twats piss themselves when they hear the shhhink or something because they can not distinguish between reality and their netflix and wine Saturday nights in their bougie cookie cutter gated mcmansions). Meanwhile in some places if you wrap electrical tape around a gardening hoe, that can be taken as intent i.e. batons and clubs is banned so that extends to having baseball bats or any kind of thick rod taped at the end for battering. But the other amusing thing is, I was looking at all these PCP air guns and actually I'm quite impressed by the power of those suckers. Like I already knew some break action .22 air rifles could do some damage and potentially injure or kill someone. What I hadn't realized is there was .50 cal air guns that are so powerful they can blow apart melons and puncture multiple water jugs. Don't tell the libprog pols I guess, or those would be banned too. Frankly, from what I can see they're far more effective self defense weapons than any piddly .22lr handgun ever can hope to be. They're also clearly infinitely more dangerous to me than stun guns, mace, balisongs, or switchblades. The sole thing anywhere near it that's not a firearm would be compound bows (especially very expensive high quality crossbows), and some specific pepperball guns firing hard rounds like the FN303 if it was loaded with something metal. But personally, I think the absolute three best self defense: Bolas gun (for outdoor civilian use in public) Tasers (that shoot probes, police style) High quality OC fogger spray (especially this one hard2hurt tested that fired some specific gel from a pistol, it utterly disabled them for 10 minutes even with dish soap water) You won't have to explain shit to the cops, and you easily can get away and go home, and more than likely retrieve anything they snatched from you (do note: that the OC *may* be restricted somewhere to someone, but the tazer most certainly will be restricted in specific locales). This as opposed to a big bulky air gun, that you'd need to carry in a backpack and need the whole pack emptied not only that but it can't be left charged or it'll break the seals and damage the gun eventually thus usually needing prep time before going out or in the field, and more importantly it is for all intents and purposes a lethal weapon. A pepperball gun has similar issues and plus it can be mistaken for a real firearm thus escalating the situation, causing potential legal troubles, having others pull weapons on you who knows. And it may not even be disabling, just hurt like hell, and if it's loaded with frangible pepper rounds not only are those banned in California anyway but the stupid thing is more likely to blast anyone in the area too thus making it a poor choice say at the metro. I wouldn't include stun guns, owing to the fact they are neither a gun nor they stun, it's more a way to intimidate anyone who don't know better by zapping a warning hiss in the air, then hold it on them til they let go of you so you can get away but results may vary (some tweaker may easily fight through it and just start hitting you, plus shitholes like Boston or D.C. might restrict it idk). I'd really like seeing the Bolas gun mass marketed frankly.

It really depends on the state, as some are more stringent than others. Alaska and Michigan, for example, completely prohibit sales to minors regardless of parental consent. Most states do not have age restrictions listed in their statutes, but like stun guns, firearms and other "weapons"...the general age requirement is 18 for purchase. Doubt the police would care, but it depends on the individual officer involved, if your child ever got involved in a self-defense situation or if this law is even actively enforced (just because a law is "on the books" does not mean they are strictly enforced). Personally it is a risk that some of us would take to protect our own, but it all depends on what you would like to do. Not suggesting you go out and blatantly break any laws.

"..on usage by civilians". Are you aware that unless you are in the military you are a civilian. Yes, even law enforcement officers. The military is governed by the UCMJ, the Uniform Code of Military Justice. Law enforcement officers fall under the same laws as the rest of us, hence we are civilians. Some laws may have special allowances for LEO's but they are still civilians.
@Srselfdefense7 жыл бұрын
One of the co-owners is an Army Vet, so yes we are aware. In regards to domestic situations, which the military has no jurisdiction over (only in times of martial law or emergencies), law enforcement has special privileges over everyone else. And yes, that includes military personnel. If you are a soldier at home, a cop (also an arbiter of the State) has more authority than you do. The fact that police officers are enforcers of the government, in the same vein as military service members, makes them anything but a regular "civilian" as most people know it.

Looks like I stepped on some feelings That was not my purpose. Nor do I intend to put down LEO's. They have a very tough job and the vast majority do it well. Incidentally, if you switch the tan states with blue, you also have a reasonably close map of the US voting demographic by political party.😅

Ha ha ha!!! Lol 😂🤣😂🤣 all places in new York city sell more then one pepper spray bottles to same person in one day!!! There's no law stopping sellers from selling you pepper spray alot of bottles. Sellers want alot of money. Everybody in new York city are go getters and want money. The most pepper spray I have bought from a store was 😅6 large 5oz bottles of pepper spray in the same day by same seller!!!most sellers in new York city do not listen to the laws.....cause the sellers do not want to lose money!!! In new York city money is good!!!! Us new York city people break the laws all the time!!! We just want money. Wat ever brings more money to new York city it's automatically legal....and police do not care. Lol why would the police care when a person has to many pepper spray bottles. They know you using it for self defence and u paid for it!!!

USE BEAR SPRAY .............................................................

Negative on that. Bear spray typically has a weaker formulation than those formulated for humans. Don't expect to get the same takedown power as regular pepper spray.
