Those of you who don't know who Lena Philipsson is and those of you who are not from Sweden, she is super famous and super big. Singer in Sweden and she is very popular here in Sweden and Lena Phillipsson sings very well and Per says that she will not replace Marie and she will do her own thing. Per says he doesn't want to start a new band and he doesn't want to start a new duo. Per just wants to continue playing Roxette songs live and all Roxette fans will get to experience that magical moment again, and I, who am Swedish, think it is the right choice that he asked Lena Phillipsson😉

Roxette died when Marie died. I live in Sweden I know who Lena Ph is but she is NOT and never will be ROXETTE. Duo ROXETTE was MARIE AND PER. LENA AND PER IS NOT Roxette. Lena has good voice, but she will never be on the same level as Marie.

This is amazing news!!! Keeping Roxette legacy alive and the music alive is just awesome! I was never expecting Roxette to be touring again, it will absolutely be different than the band with Marie, and I agree that no-one could ever replace Marie, but in my very humble opinion this is not about replacing Marie, but keeping Roxettes' music alive.

Many bands have lost their main singer and carried on, it's great if he manage to do it, release new material even. I imagine Lena Ph is perfect for this too, great singer, funny and she's a songwriter as well. People think that a musician feeds and survives on light when they say that the band comes back because of money. As if everyone here doesn't need cash. Another detail is that Pers is in top shape to continue and is the composer of all of Roxette's songs. Imagine a hit maker sitting at home doing nothing else. I think it is fantastic that Per and Lena are doing this! And if they are going to do it, better to do it for real, with ambition, under the Roxette name. If they were to call themselves "Popcorn" or "Per & Lena" or something else, it wouldn't sell many tickets and therefore would fail. You might compare it to when KISS brought in two other members and had them wear Ace's and Peter's make-ups. This has divided KISS fans over the last 3 decades. Or Queen still carrying on without Freddie. Anyone can choose not to go to these concerts if they have a problem with them.

I am a big fan of Per's music and I like some of the songs he's released on his own and with his former band but it wpn't feel like Roxette's back. It will be more like a tribute show but in no way would I use the word "comeback". Now if Gabriel and Josefin were involved in it, that would be a game-changer. I wish you the best Per. No offense to Per, but to me it comes across as a cash grab. I can understand that he's proud of what he's achieved (and he should be) and that he wants to keep the legacy alive, but going on tour under the Roxette name is irritating and smacks of something weird. Whenever he played solo shows, he played a few Roxette songs anyway because he wrote the stuff, but I guess the name “Per Gessle” doesn't sell that well, I guess. And besides, what happened to “PG Roxette”? I'm sorry, but it seems like he wants to milk the cash cow over and over again. Would Agneta and Björn hire two other people and tour as ABBA? I am looking forward to seeing the new front singer Agnes in their Australian tour this year and introducing my kids to Roxette. Should a band stop performing if their front singer passes away? You make a good point about AC/DC, but from my perspective the difference is that they were relatively young and had not been around as a band for too long when their singer died. I just don't think it's necessary for Per at 65 to suddenly use the Roxette name and keep playing the stuff that was made famous by a singer who is no longer with us. It's almost like what Foreigner are doing now. This line-up that's on tour right now is just playing the old stuff that none of them recorded. It's basically a cover band. In my opinion, Per should have continued his solo work and left the Roxette brand as it was.

Marie was a great incredible singer but the songs are written by Per Gessler. So the truth is that his importance to the duo is more present due to the hits he composed. Try replacing the vocalist with someone who sings exactly like the old one: the band remains. Try to replace the sole composer of all these songs: the band will hardly be able to continue. Try to think about how a musician who is still in good health to play live feels about having to stop the successful project of his dreams with his songs because of a tragedy when he still has energy for that. People need to stop crucifying others. Let life flow. I'm sure that Marie, up there, fully supports this return.
