Here on the Madison Chain in Wisconsin the perch mostly relate to either bloodworms on the bottom or suspended plankton. They can be 30-40 feet off the bottom in 70 feet of water, or right on the bottom, so good electronics is very important! Over the last few years the deeper water bite has not been as good and the fish are adapting more to the reefs out in 25-40 foot of water. Do you think our food source is changing, or is it just that possibly people weren't fishing for them that shallow until recently?

Perch during winter? They must be available year-round. I am learning how to catch perch. Watching lots and lots of fishing channels. The hardest part for me is to figure out the depth of where perch swim.
