Time for some more Ice Fishing on Lake Simcoe! I met up with John, a follower who wanted to take me out Ice Fishing for some Jumbo Perch fishing on the southern end of Lake Simcoe. He knew a spot where he caught a few Jumbo Perch before and wanted to give it another go. We weren't disappointed!
We're starting to have a serious warm trend happening here on Lake Simcoe. We even saw a thaw at the shore when we went out. This is the last week for a lot of the permanent huts out there as we dive into Spring temps. Perch fishing should be awesome.
John and I caught mostly smaller fish with only a few jumbos in between but luck was on our side. John pulled out a massive Jumbo Perch, possibly an Ontario Perch length record. He measured it at 15.3 inches and the listed record is 15.1 inches.

Great video guys. I've caught many many perch over the years over 15" and a couple over 16". Unfortunately probably didnt beat the weight which I think is what matters for new records. Nice perch fellas!

Agreed. I was told that it usually goes by weight first then length so there's a chance we wont' hear anything about it.
