I don't understand the premise of this movie. All the best movies are all about wish fulfillment so is it made for women who wish for a boy they have to teach, or is it made for men who wish for a whore to save them?
@xander17562 ай бұрын
Seems reasonable to me to conclude you're only talking about movies you rate as best. Not all movies are about wish fulfillment, regardless of how anyone rates them. Does that solve the mystery for you?
@snarzetax2 ай бұрын
I'll state it again, for those of you in the back, and to stave off any erroneous conclusions. "All the BEST movies are about wish fulfillment", whether it's in the base plot, or the motives of the person behind the camera, telling the story. Which of the objectively ranked "best" movies is not about wish fulfillment? To be clear, I couldn't care less what some pretentious movie snob considers the "best films" to be, I'm considering the highest tix sales, and most seen by EVERYONE, movies(BUT I am open to having my opinion challenged by a good point, or two, if you have one to be made). No hard feelings is not one of the "best" movies, and we know why, IF we care to actually look. But, upon reflection, it actually IS about wish fulfillment, from the perspective of the parents(supporting characters). Unfortunately, I have to then ask, who wants to be any one of these characters, main or supporting, in real life? Who goes to a movie because they identify with the supporting characters?
@xander17562 ай бұрын
@@snarzetax 'Highest grossing\popular' and 'best' aren't always synonymous. Good examples are the first two Star Wars trilogies, all Jurasic Park movies, 2nd and 3rd installments of The Matrix, all Harry Potter movies. All terrible movies but all grossed very well. To clarify, when you say "wish fulfillment", are you speaking of movie character or viewer's wish fulfillment?
@snarzetax2 ай бұрын
@@xander1756 Usually, it's the character/group which the most viewers identify/sympathize with(live vicariously through) but sometimes it's the main producer/main creative responsible for the project. As for "best", consider, the foremost purpose of a movie is to be seen. Only if if it is seen, can it be "experienced". Since "experiences" always vary between the extremes of "good" and "bad", the peak performance of the "best" movie would be to be entirely seen by literally everyone. The better movies always gain more views with time while lesser movies become forgotten. Perhaps this is the impartial metric/benchmark we can use to define "best" to avoid any sort of subjective opinion of quality.
