While this isn’t a traditional Frenchi or a traditional perdigon, it works great! And my whole desire with this video and the entire channel is to give you ideas to try out and let you make your own fly styles. Whatcha all think of this variant?

The whole point of a perdigon is to sink..like a pellet which is what the word means. Adding dubbing pretty much makes this not a perdigon lol. I think you could create the same idea…instead using a large bump of neon pink thread in place of the pink dubbing. You could thin uv resin over the entire thing like a perdigon…and it would sink much better. Just my two cents. Much quicker to tie it the way you did. Won’t sink half as well though with the dubbing collar.

I totally understand, and yes technically this isn’t a perdigon and won’t sink quite as quick as a full resin body. However, it still sinks a bit quicker than the regular Frenchi, and with the tungsten bead, it still sinks really fast. My point though with this fly is that I wanted people to know that you can get creative and try new things. I’ve been doing a few perdigon videos this month so far, and wanted to show something just a bit different. Help people’s creative juices flowing. Hope that makes sense?
