So difficult to see Nuno's tactics that Wolves fans recognise, being used against them. Sels missed one shot, out of position, but Murillo cleared Larsen's shot off the line, again showing quality defending, backing up his keeper.

Dave, you admitted at one point that we actually played well first half, but then you went on to imply the performance overall was flat. Well, second half I'd agree, but I don't see the consistency in your own remarks. We were missing Cunha, Andre and Semedo who are arguably 3 of our best 4 players. That has to be taken into consideration. Where I do agree is on the points you both make about Lemina, Sarabia, Forbs, etc. There's a lot of fringe players that need replacing and upgrading and frankly not much point in keeping some of these. Real pity about Lemina (especially) and Sarabia who are both fine players at their best. With Hwang I honestly think the jury's still out. We all thought he was totally crap before he became our top scorer. Even on Monday night he should have got a very good assist but for the woeful finishing of JSL. When Hwang is in form, he's easily our best finisher. Worth persisting with, I'd argue. Anyway, I just find all the doom and gloom a bit much - although I still come back each week to watch (so you must be doing something right!) Do we really have a squad of mediocre players or is that just a knee jerk reaction after one crappy defeat? The gaps are still mostly at the back if you ask me. And you never seem to factor confidence into the equation. Forest were on a run of 5 consecutive wins with a team of mixed talents - is Chris Wood really that good? Anyway, we are still desperately scrapping for points to avoid relegation. These factors have to be taken into account. Vitor has plenty to do, but I do still see a huge improvement even on Monday night.

Morgan Gibbs-White only made 15 league starts for us over 7 seasons and never more than 5 in any one season. Diego Costa, Miranda and Trincao all made 16 starts during the same period. The first Forest goal was a gigantic disaster in my opinion, only two players attacking us and a bog-standard one-two - we just didn't pick up and cover for the obvious and simple. Though I'm a little bit of a Santi fan (only a bit), I thought he was badly at fault. Though it's got to be difficult for him when his companions in the back three are Doherty and Ait-Nouri - neither of them CBs. Our response was really good and we really should have been ahead before Forest got their second. I thought Doherty was really good first half until getting skinned and yeah he should definitely have taken a yellow. I agree seeing crosses swinging into the box was refreshing, although too often we had nobody challenging and they were a bit undirected at anybody. Rodrigo Gomes again staked a claim for a regular place in the starting XI. I hope Pedro Lima gets more opportunities too, but I guess we aren't likely to play him when Semedo is available. Forbs, I'm less convinced by, though we've not seen much of him, he may have a chance in the FA Cup game, though I can't see us playing two out-and-out wingers. Doyle I'm not a huge fan of, I think we in general overrate him, just because he is enthusiastic, never hides and works really hard. Jorgen had a terrible time in the match, and this after his excellent finish at Tottenham. He is a very patchy performer and though I'm not a huge fan I appreciate that he really does play for the team and puts in the effort. I'd certainly let Hwang go if a decent bid comes in for him, though I'd want a new forward coming in. Sarabia, who I am a fan of, came on and sadly looked horribly rusty. Bellegarde too was ineffective, what is up with the guy? Lemina was poor. We seem to have a clump of players ready to be discarded and leave. So it would seem that we need new blood. FA Cup? Don't care. Avoiding relegation is the huge and only issue now this season. The Bristol game should be treated like a pre-season outing. I always hang on after the game ends because my exit out of the BillyQ, towards my home by the station, is at the South Bank end and my seat is slightly to the North Bank side of the half-way line and pretty far towards the back. There is no quick exit option! It was horrible listening to the Forest fans singing solidly for 80 minutes. I always wander into town when we've lost and meander the long way home, walking back alongside celebrating away fans is no fun. Wow, Matt never mentioned Fosun!!!! Can we please sack the person who chooses what gets played before the game. Noisy head-banging Ibiza night club garbage is appalling. dylanwolf in the billyQ

@@f.......f-w1z Just stating the facts, friend. Makes no odds to me. I'm just pointing out to other Wolves fans that he was at Wolves for a prolonged period and didn't feature all that often. In the league he made his first team starting XI debut in the 2016-17 season and made his last start for the first team in the 2022-23 season. That's 7 seasons. During that period Diego Costa, Roderick Miranda and Francisco Trincao all made 16 starting appearances in the league, each in one season only. Making them more significant Wolves players than MGW who started 2-1-5-1-4-0-2 (only15 starts in all), in each of his seven seasons - never starting more than 5 matches in any one season. I don't watch Forest games so I don't have an opinion on Gibbs-White's regular performances. My focus is on the team that I support and the players that play for us. I'm sure that currently you believe most of the Forest team would walk into a Wolves XI. I wish Forest well, as I always support other teams from the Midlands area over teams from the South or the North. I'd rather the Premier League featured all nine of our senior clubs - and if Notts Co, Walsall, Port Vale, Shrewsbury etc all joined in too that would be fabulous. dylanwolf in the billyQ

Then he spent 2 years out on loan after he turned 18.. so waffling about how many appearances he made when he was a kid and had 2 seasons out on loan makes little sense

It was a very strange atmosphere said to my lad when we came out the subway at 7.40 that the north bank upper was empty. Like you said no traffic on way there either. Was all very strange

I wasn't at the game (tricky to get to from Sheffield under the circumstances) but I'm not surprised the atmosphere was so crap. Monday night at 8, straight after the NY festivities and sh1t weather and driving conditions. But partly this is what Sky did to us when they bought the TV rights all those decades ago. Back in the day, when the matches were almost always Saturday at 3 with occasional midweek games the crowds and the atmosphere was more reliable. But now they chop it around so much that fans find it more difficult to get to games and gradually we lose interest. Meanwhile, who actually cares about Saturday's game against Bristol City? The 3rd round of the FA cup was once a highlight of the season. Now it's basically a distraction and perhaps a relief from the grind of the league. Sorry to be depressing about this, but that's basically how I feel. (On the plus side, the football itself is higher quality and grounds are far safer and nicer.)
