This new game is a boss-rush game, meaning the only enemies you will fight are the bosses. Also, in this game, you have no health and will die from a single hit. Pretty challenging, but there are some ways to make the fights easier. You can equip instincts - abilities, which work exactly like charms from Hollow Knight. And you can also find the blacksmith and with some materials upgrade your weapon to kill the bosses faster.

@@bok3rnes425 Not quite. In Contra you have spare lifes. If you die, you can continue until you run out of lives. In this game you die - you start the boss fight from the beginning. Like in Katana Zero.

This game has neat boss designs and patterns. Still early on the video but I already like many bosses, like the Hivemind using offsprings as living barricades(kinda reminds me of Abaddon in Castlrvania Dawn of Sorrow) and the overall moveset of the Lamplighter. And the Marassa Twins - were they inspired by the game Outland?

This isn’t a dark souls like? It’s a One shot death boss rush game. A very well defined genre. With some VERY creative bosses from the looks of it.
