I love what you did in this raised bed. I am wondering - do you have steps up into the garden? I am going to follow your lead and plant wildflower seeds this coming fall. I was amazed how calendula and coreopsis came up in my gardens from seed - oh, and bachelor buttons - which are becoming a nuisance. I have been digging the small ones up and transplanting them around. I live on 3 acres, so no shortage of garden space. And no shortage of grasses and weeds. The hula-hoe is my friend. I have to just sort of go with it. I just love your cozy, full of love, gardens Patty. It's so calm and peaceful.

Lol, I love a hula hoe as well. I use a small step ladder to get into the bed. Lucky you with all that room to grow!

Also when you said you use a step ladder to get into your flower bed it made me wonder if you had room on the side for some concrete steps. I think they come in different heights and it would give you somewhere to set more plants on 😉.

I love my ponds and don't need to maintain. JUst put in some pond weeds, a few mosquito fish and that's it. I have two.

I love ponds as well. We live in the desert and the previous owners had shade cloths over the area that were in bad shape. It was just not cost effective to replace them. We did talk about it because I love to watch the fish and frogs in ponds. Yours sound lovely.
