I adopted a dog from the shelter, had her for 12 years. It turned out that she was a Bernedoodle. Let me tell you, she was the most loving and beautiful soul there is. She was my best companion, luckily I was at home all the time so she was not left alone. My heart is broken, I miss her so much.

Our mini-Bernedoodle is going on 2 years old and is just under 30lbs. She has always been incredibly chill. Zero issues potty training, no food sensitivity issues, and she passed her Canine Good Citizen test with flying colors. We do work 8-5, but she does great in her play pen area during the day. She doesn't shed, we got her used to brushing early , and I groom her myself :-)

#1 Exercise - All dogs need this, if you cannot do this don't get a dog. #2 Stomachs- All dogs have sensitive stomachs. You should be watching what you feed any living being. Sensitive stomach usually means you shouldn't eat that item. #3 Size- Fair point. Size applies to what people can handle this fact is true across all breeds. #4- Socializing. All dogs are social pack animals. They are distant cousins of the wolf which are pack animals. #5. Attachment. I mean shouldn't you spend time with your loved ones? #6 Grooming. Another fair point but again you should always pay attention to your dogs coat/skin as a good dog owner. #7 Strong Leader- again pack animals. Being a good parent to a human or dog is important to the way they behave.

@desertcat9287 Жыл бұрын
I have an F1 Bernedoodle who sheds a lot. It depends on the coat type and percentage of poodle. Mine is 50/50 with a wavy coat. Everything in the video is true. It’s just a matter of anticipating those issues and managing appropriately, so that you and your pup have a great life together. If something they mention in the video is a deal breaker for you, choose a different breed. They are great dogs, but not for everyone.

These dogs are so cute. We purchased a pair of Bernese Mtn. dogs awhile back. I loved them dearly but they both died of cancer at just a few months after turning 6. One got sick and the other just a month after. I tried megadoses of C as the ascorbate but could not stop the cancer. My vet who came out to put them down told me that these were the oldest mountain dogs that he had seen. They were only 75 months and 150 lbs. If you own dogs do not spray glyphosate weed killer on any vegetation they could eat like grass, ie: round-up.

Just adopted a bernadoodle. He has more Bernese in him so already at 4 months old he is HUGEE we named him maximus (max for short). I have owned multiple dogs in my life but it is like max has always been a part of our family he fits right in. We have a 6year old dog as well and he’s only small but the two of them are best friends and the bernadoodle is better behaved than our other dog. At 14 weeks old he knows all commands before you even tell him to do them and he is very well toilet trained. He doesn’t shed at all. I also have autism and despise Him being so young he is a great therapy dog for me. Very social dog, very affectionate. Gets along well with other animals and loves people! Anyways, best choice of a dog for me and my family. I highly recommend them 🥰

My dog loves people, even though we don’t take him for socializing often because he gets sick in the car. We love him unconditionally. We are very happy with this breed.

1. They need an average level of exercise two half hour to 1 hour walks and some play is normally fine really not a high level of exercise (we'll call this false). 2. they tend to have good health. Stomach troubles in all doodles is a thing (find a diet that works stick to it, chicken and rice with a few veg tends to be good for any dog with tummy troubles. So this one is true but there are solutions). 3. miniature poodle x Bernese are smaller, live longer, same temperament (so if size matters and you want one go mini poodle x. So not necessarily big depends call this misleading). 4. Dumb comment all dogs need to be socialised (they tend to be loving and like everyone so are one of dog types easier to socialise so false). 5. Separation is true. 6. It depends how curly the they are some are less curly than others but true they require brushing a lot plus side barely shed or not at all so great if you have allergies. 7. They are an average dog for training not easiest not the hardest any dog requires leadership but it's more parenting than anything show them the right way. If they get attention, praise and reward for doing what you want they're gonna do that over the thing that gets them ignored or removed from your presence. Especially considering they're a breed that wants to be with you all the time. (Scientific fact a natural wolf pack does not have the alfa beta thing we all hear of they have Mum & Dad maybe an auntie, uncle or 2. Mum & Dad are in charge then kids all have there individual roles they're a family. Dogs see us as parents)

We rescued a mini bernedoodle named Finn last year. He was found, with the rest of his littermates in a run down abandoned barn, dumped by “breeders” who didn’t think they would be able to sell them because of their coats not being the standard tri color bernedoodle coat. Thankfully they were all rescued, nurses back to health, and all found homes. The rescue wasn’t sure how big he would get (he was 4 months old when we got him and weighed 17 lbs). At one year, he weighs about 25 lbs, and won’t be getting any bigger. He’s a wonderful dog; extremely sweet and loving. And yes, he has some of the “less desirable” traits of doodle dogs (sensitive stomach, very high energy, barks at everything) and is still a little skiddish when meeting new people (probably from before he was rescued), he is such a wonderful addition to our home. We got him in honor of our dog, Mickey, who passed away from an aggressive cancer at age 12. He was more of a son than a dog to us. Finn has helped fill the void left by Mickey’s passing. I like to think we’ve helped him heal, and he’s helped us heal.
