My favorite thing about Kyungsoo is how well he controls his voice to show you the emotion he's trying to convey through the lyrics. He does it so beautifully that without even knowing the lyrics it would still make me tear up bcs i can feel his emotion so strongly.

The first time I heard About Time, there were no translation. But the raw emotions from his vocals brought teard to my eyes. You can feel the heartbreak and regret that he conveyed through bis singing so strongly, that there was no need to know what the lyrics was all about. When I eventually read the lyrics, it blew me away because his voice conveyed exactly what the lyrics was saying. He is such a good singer and a good storyteller. Mars.. Pop Corn.. My Dear.. all perfectly conveyed his feelings of love. Simple Joys is all him, being grateful for the small things in life. This album is perfect. His vocals are perfect. I have always said that he uses his voice as an instrument, singing the same part differently so that he could add layers and nuance to the songs. Some people think his songs are simple but they are actually quite intricate and delicate. Oh, sorry for the long post.. want to add one more thing, dueing Lee Mujin Service, he did mention that normally people would start listening to songs for their melody but he had started to listen first to the lyrics. So I guess that was why he chose these songs for his 3rd album.

about time is so special to me the chorus is so gut-wrenching it makes you feel his pain and regret he sang it so well 😭😭 i especially appreciate his vocal textures a lot in this it shows how diverse he is but kyungsoo said recently it was his least favourite 🥲 i guess because he tends to gravitate towards uplifting(?) songs
