I did a Ladakh trip way back in 2009 on a rx 135 5 speed and Boy with a pillion and 80kg bagpack from Vadodara, gujarat. At that time the bike was already 8 years old. And I never struck anywhere nor even once on entire journey i asked the pillion to get down. I have gone places on it 100000 km + with 1 piston change and still in 2020 i have original front tyre. God knows how it lasted so long!

@Manjit Gogoi bhai 2 logo ka saman tha, (clothes, raincoats,jackets, food, a kerosene stove, 1 liter kerosene, a 2liter pan type cooker( jiski height kam n width jada hoti hai, doubled as a tawa) 2plates, spoons etc, a 2person tent, 2sleeping bag first-aid kit, camera, slippers, foot air pump, tube, set of tools other than toolkit, bulbs, cables, (if you know it's a 2stroke bike so 2 liters 2t oil, 5+5 liter petrol can, for manali to Leh only) aur bhi choto mota hoga bahut kuch....first time itni lambi trip thi and didn't knew a lot about those terrains, so wanted to be prepared. there are lot of things like we learnt , to change Tyre from punture shop, small bike repairs from my mechanic, cooking lessons, breathing exercises when we heard of low oxygen, we didn't had budget to buy extravagant things like oxygen cylinders, were really on tight budget. We travelled 6000km and our total expense (all inclusive) was 18000inr. That includes a camera repair of 1200inr. it was a borrowed camera whose lens locked/struck/jam at khardungla! At that time se didn't have access to information as we have now. People like @Bulu Patnaik and many great youtubers have made things easier and far more reach able.

yes you can upgrade to a 150 section rear tyre in dominar 250 it has the same dimensions for the box type swing arm as that of the aluminium swing arm of dominar 400😄😄😄 you will get an advantage of better grip

Don't upgrade it .I changed my ns 200 rear tyre 130 to 140 and it looks very cool from back but it drops my top speed heavily and mileages too. Stock is always better

Bhai although I m no one to judge, mere paas duke 200 and himalyan he. I wud suggest aeasf 350cc se upr ki bike le jao as water crossings ya sand patches pr 200cc ya 300cc bikes atak jati he. Baaki if u have a strong will, u cn do k2k on activa as well.

Duke 250 is simply better than the dominar 250, Bajaj took the KTM 250 cc engine and installed low quality parts to reduce performance so that it is allowed to exist inside the dominar. Duke 250 is pure performance and dominar 250 is a sad compromise

Yes weight is an advantage but it has air cooled engine , dominar has liquid cooled that's why dominar has an edge , even I would say fz25 is now out of the competion , the main competitors are now dominar 250 , gixer 250(oil cooled) & KTM Duke 250 , on 250cc segment

@@shubhamgirdhar8543 but fz do not need liquid cooling since it has low power and 20 bhp is sufficient in real world condition of India , fz is more practical and long lasting machine for life time in India I guess. Dominar is new so we get features more but not reliable as yamaha engine, gixer do not have relax riding posture for long rides , sf is full fairing so touring modification is tough, KTM out of budget so I guess fz25 is best all rounder in every aspect for any kind of riding in our country

I have taken my fz15 to Ladakh with a pillion without any single issues . I have been to Kargil,rangdum , Nubra,pangong,chushul,Hanle,tso moriri, Manali . My bike has clocked more than 2 lakh km . Still it performed well . Yamaha engine are known for their reliability. Yamaha fz25 will perform very well in those terrains .

Obviously Avenger. Add Fork Risers 2 inches, change tyres to Ralco Speed blaster all terrain. Total weight on 18nm bikes should preferably be under 250Kg. The lighter you r the better.
