Perfect "cocktail" and Fertilizer for fall!

Hi Everyone,
Fall has really kicked in and it's time to get out some good stuff on the lawn to help it get through fall and prepare for winter. Been using this stuff for years and it always gives me great results.
Fall fertilizer I use in the video is called Florovit Höst, only available in the Nordics I think. Just google low nitrogen fertilizer where you live and you should be able to find options.

Hey Mate, sounds like we just did the same kind of journey, how is your lawn turning out this fall? I usually keep my lawn between 1-1.5 inches during fall and going into winter, I feel that's a good height to keep. 4 inches sounds too high, you will have a higher risk of snow mold and disease if you keep it that high through winter.

Nice video Sam (as always) I noticed your fertiliser had 6% iron, did you reduce the iron in the 1st application with the ‘Raw’ products or go for a normal recommended amount ( if that makes sense) just put a Autum feed on mine two days ago, rained loads last night, and already looking amazing. Hey Steve, no I actually went for the full amount, the fertilizer will take time to break down and get into the plant whereas the iron sprayed on will be used pretty much at once by the plats. So I feel it give a nice even flow of iron over time to do it this way :) thanks for watching Steve, appreciate it mate.

Hi Sam you said at beginning of the video you just repaired any bare patches so I assume seeded? Then you're adding iron I thought that was no good for seeds ? When would you say put autumn fertiliser on after overseeding and doing a few bare patches please?

Hey mate, precisely, just repaired bare spots, I just went around those areas when spraying the iron, so no worries. It won't harm the new seeds, it's just that they cannot take in any of the iron that early. I would say try to time it 2 weeks before the first frost. Now I know that is a godawful answer, but it's so weather dependent. But that would be the optimal time, now I usually do it more than two weeks before since I don't want to take any chances with the weather, and rather too early than too late. Once the ground goes below 8 degrees Celsius, everything pretty much stops. So get that thermometer in the ground and keep track :)
