Still to this day my favourite FPS game. This truly has the fun factor. other games get forgotten after a while but this is one of those games where I can pull out my N64 once in a blue moon and have hours of fun!

This is my favorite FPS. I love the combat simulator because of the fact that you can set it up ANY WAY you want. You have a plethora of maps, the ability to customize the weapon set at your will, create your own player model, you can even customize the bots' models too!

I think it's cool how 4J Studios kept all the easter eggs, secrets, and glitches in the Xbox Live Arcade version aside from the Miyamoto one for obvious reasons. They even made the wine easter egg an achievement you can get.

Also the Cheese was originally suppose to be another way to unlock the cheats if you collect them but they switched it to where you have to beat a mission in a certain amount of time to unlock it.

Here's a tip.. for the GS building level with the safe, place the camera spy on the wiring ledge just before the meeting room but don't activate the cut scene, just leave it there.. now when you start decoding the door lock and you get the minute or so timer, take control of the camera spy and drive it forward into the cut scene.. the timer will still count down during the scene and you don't have to face as many dudes. It also makes earning the cheat for the level possible

Now I don't know if this is true, but I heard in one of the Area 51 levels (I believe the first one), if you have the Farsight and look through the walls, you can see a soldier with a magnum running around shooting soliders.

I forgot exactly how to do this, but in the third mission when you're trying to escape the Datadyne building with Dr. Carol, if you get to the elevator in a certain amount of time or something, there will be a guard with a key card to Cassandra's office. Not only will it let you go in there to find a hidden weapon, but if you go back to the first floor, you will find a room with Mr. Blonde and two female guards. They won't move, they won't shoot you and they won't die if you shoot them. But if you shot them in the face repeatedly, get all nice and bloody, they'll appear in the cut scene as bloodied as you left them. Also, you can use this key card to actually walk out the front door, but there isn't much to do out there except fall off of the map and just sorta die.

Without the Expansion Pack, all you have is the Combat Simulator, but once you have that Expansion Pack, this game is amazing and I think it's the best N64 game ever and I think it is the best FPS game ever made.

With the Question Mark box, if you get the slayer, you can go up into the area, only to find the hidden box is an ammo box. You can then go out of the area and go into the nothingness...

I know this is an old video, but anyone with an Xbox 360 or Xbox One can play the updated version of the game. Upgraded textures, resolution and framerate: Same great gameplay and features. I'm so glad they updated it because it's hard going back to the N64 after 20+ years.

I think there's an easter egg you might have missed. On the first level, (you'll need an explosive weapon so you might want to turn on some cheats.) Head down the stairs (kill the guards of course.) and once you see that pillar, tower, etc. right next to the computer hanging on the wall, pull out your explosive weapon and shoot at the pillar. it will explode and lead you down to a hidden area. And once you're down there, you'll look at the window and notice the piece of cheese in front of it. ;)

Still playing in 2020! There are major Easter eggs missed on the combat simulator for the facility. When you die and settle looking up during the red death screen you will see messages written everywhere on the ceilings to a developer's wife or girlfriend.

There are hidden cheeses in each level of Perfect Dark. You were originally intended to collect them all to unlocked a feature called "Perfect Head" where you use the Transfer Pak and the Game Boy Camera to put images of people's faces on the characters in multiplayer. how about going to the firing range when not in a mission and selecting the farsite gun then not shooting the targets but instead looking for any person sitting down and shooting the chairs they are on, you missed that one. its funny to see a guy sitting there but no chair being there, you can also take out the computers they are using for a extra giggle. you can also mess with a few cut scenes with it too

I used to mess around with the firing range a lot! There is a hovercrate underneath the firing range near the jumpship that you can use to block the door open and throw explosives at the range guys. I put years into that game!

In the datadyne building on the ground floor you can go outside the building on the ground floor, simply by closing the elevator door and then running toward the glass while pressing C left, you go right through the glass and end up on the road outside the ground floor of the building, but, if you go too far you fall down into blackness and die.

Y'all missed quite a lot of things like the ammo boxes under the grate on the sewers map, the key hole in the vents on area 51 , The plant off screen in air force one I believe, unfinished part of the facility, the skedar ghost in attack ship, James bond ghost in area 51 and Carrington villa, and the wind mill sentry gun on Carrington villa or even the ozzymandias reference in Cassandra necklace. A lot of the maps were unfinished including the facility, sewers, and warehouse.

it's a REALLY nice and good for multiplayer parties, cause you dont get a 240 by 144 resolution screens, you get atleast 640 by 480, but the the cheese achievement also gives the account a unique shirt for the avatar, that is called "The CHEESE Hunters"

Use the cloaking device (Unlimited Ammo would be wise too so the cloaking device won't drain) and go to Area 51: Rescue. Lure a guard to the large brown door (the one you go through when hiding Elvis in the next level.) He may open it while looking for you. If he does, you can explore the other Areas of the entire complex including outside.

The cheese was initailly going to be used for the cheat system. Which of would unlock various cheats when you picked them up. Which is why they are hidden throughout the game, some of which are impossible to find without using cheats.
