Oh man my childhood! Along with a bad fur day and old Nintendo 64 games haha. I found the rare game play edition for xbox. Has a bunch of oldies. I love the original N64 Perfect Dark, and I also love the remake for Xbox. Guess you had to be young to truly appreciate this piece of artwork.

Elliot Johnson I'm glad you do. I was only 8 when I played this game. It was the first game I played on the 360 (makes sense, it was the launch title), and I fell in love with it. Now I'm 20, and I still look back on this game as one of the best, and I honestly don't understand the hate it gets. It doesn't deserve to be held up to the standards of the first game (that I never played). On its own, it's great. It's an amazing (yet underrated) classic that more people should play.

Cameron Cunnings - Yes buddy! It is a very different game to the first PD. I played PDZ before the original. The gunplay in PDZ is sublime - I just recently played through it again in Coop through Rare Replay and I still love it.

I grew up with and loved Perfect Dark when it came out for the N64. When the remaster came out on the Xbox 360 marketplace, I was ecstatic (for it and also the Banjo Kazooie remaster I'll admit I loved that game too). When Perfect Dark Zero came out I was equally ecstatic. I'll admit, it didn't live up to my expectations, but I did very much enjoy it regardless. And I gotta say, they just made Jo so hot. Don't regret playing Zero at all, even had a good bit of fun playing the multiplayer with my friends. Great memories all around.

Ouch, the story and characters were totally butchered in Zero. It's no wonder Perfect Dark died after this game. Perfect Dark N64 was such a stellar experience at the time. I loved almost everything about it, and I loved it's dark and mature atmosphere. The characters were badass, to boot. Zero basically made Carrington a corny Irish cartoon character, Jonathan a corny basic dude, and Joanna an American with a bubbly personality (she is British, mature and sassy). I also do not like the goofy animations of Zero. This game had so much potential and it was squandered. I surely do hope Perfect Dark gets a worthy remake or sequel. I want to see Perfect Dark live on.

I’m kinda lost here. Why is this story revolving around a Japanese Brainiac knockoff that becomes a god when the series is supposed to be about aliens? Also I know I’m gonna get some flak for this but Joanna being bubbly and light hearted doesn’t bother me that much. This is her early years as a rookie. She’s skilled but she’s also inexperienced and makes mistakes. She hasn’t been put through the ringer yet. In perfect dark she’s been an agent for a few years and been forced to grow up a lot. Complaining that Joanna Dark acts naive and constantly makes mistakes in a prequel about her first real operation is like complaining about Luke Skywalker being a whiny teenager in A New Hope. Teens are implosive and stupid because they don’t know anything. Ofcourse they’re gonna do stupid shit. Joanna is no exception. If this was a sequel I’d get it but set three years prior when she’s barely finished training and still has that youthful optimism isn’t bad writing. It’s just bad planning for a series because it removes the suspense and it should’ve been where the series started rather than in the middle of the story. Anyway rant over.

Thanks for the upload, but I'm glad I didn't throw down money for an Xbox 360 in 2005 for this burning trash heap. The first Perfect Dark was well...perfect. This one is what the latter title is...zero. Really wish Rare didn't get sold to Microsoft. We would have had two more Perfect Dark games that would have expanded on the series, seeing a much more badass iteration of Joanna and a deeper storyline. Sad :-/

@Bassistking That's funny. I guess you forgot how godawful the story and voice acting was in the original Perfect Dark. Given that you don't back up your statement regarding PDZ supposedly being trash with a proper critique of the game I can only assume you have never played it yourself. Typical mindless circle-jerk fanboy mentality. PD was only ever Goldeneye 64 but with some tacked-on multiplayer features (all at a blistering slideshow-level of performance) and some added gimmicky guns. Certainly not perfect with that in mind.

​@Fox-like I played the original (PD) before Zero (PDZ) was out and even I don't think PD was anything special compared to Goldeneye 007, which PD is heavily based on, mechanically and technically. It practically plays the same as GE007, only with a cyberpunk theme added and some hit-or-miss multiplayer features. PDZ has a cheesy but fun story and script with a less bloated arsenal of fun weapons and some awesome graphics, audio and simulated physics for a 2005 game. I like that it differentiated itself from PD by having the dodging roll and cover mechanic to make shootouts more interesting and the way enemies/characters ragdoll when you kill them with shotguns/revolvers/sniper rifles never gets old to me, even compared to much newer games. PDZ is a great game for sure!

It all seemed a bit rushed... half the time i struggled to keep up with the story line here. It literally jumped from point to point. This game had potential. However... I would not say that it was the best.
