You are 100% correct! Seattle visitors can have a fantastic time WITHOUT a car! I've lived here for 20 years and 95% of the time can walk, bike, light rail, Metro or ride share everywhere in Seattle. I love living in a city where being here and enjoying it does NOT require a car. In fact, a car can be a real headache here.

For anyone who has never been to Seattle I always recommend a harbor cruise from Argosy Cruises and the Underground Tour. The harbor cruise will let you see the city from the water and points out landmarks and the Underground Tour is a fun and humorous way to learn the history of the city. Both are a short walk from the Pike Place Market.
@liannebedard5521Ай бұрын
You can take the ferry to Bainbridge, have lunch, return for a museum visit, a waterfront stroll, munch your way through the market for dinner…catch a baseball game in season…or a dozen other things…without having somebody yak at you on an Argosy cruise. Or you could head for one of the gentrified neighborhoods and spend yourself silly.
@craigcampbell1843Ай бұрын
@@liannebedard5521 sure. You could do that but if you actually want to learn a little bit about Seattle, Argosy will give you a guided tour which a lot of tourists like. Some people want to learn things about the place they’re visiting instead of just standing on a noisy dirty ferry for an hour to get the cheapest view possible. I didn’t say “if you live in Seattle and already know everything about it and just want the cheapest boat ride you can get”. I said if you’re a tourist and you want to learn about the city…
@liannebedard5521Ай бұрын
@@craigcampbell1843 This is my 30th year in Seattle. I have used the ferry…and the good market just beyond the park…as a quick escape for years. Smile…old people can ride the ferries for $1…round trip. Bainbridge has better boutiques than Bremerton, though the ambience kinda lags…
@craigcampbell1843Ай бұрын
@@liannebedard5521 yes. That is something I would do when I lived there too. My comment wasn’t for people who live in Seattle though. My comment was for tourists who have never been there before that might want to learn about the city. Residents aren’t going to want a guided tour but they’re a fun way to learn about a new place when you’re only going to be there 2-3 days.

A trip to Pike Place from the light rail system to Symphony station can be accomplished without seeing Third and Pike, our most grimy zone. I do it several times per month…I am 87 and weigh 90 lbs. So sad to hear people cowering and conjuring up scares. Soon you will be afraid to go outside…death by imagination. I take the train in to the symphony…the train brings you INTO THE BUILDING. I order a Lyft several days in advance, after getting the concert ending time from the symphony. Lyft is about $20…parking at Symphony is $35. Coffee and wine at intermission…

Enjoyed your video, thanks for the great content! Bummer on SO many delays! Then just getting a partial night's sleep, and having to de-train at 5 am, yuck! However, just saying -- flew to Seattle from LA a few months ago -- had a stop in Oakland where we got delayed 6 hours! Arrived in Seattle at 1:30 am, which sucked because the ilght rail from airport to the city stopped at 1 am. So we had to deal with taxi/Uber/Lyft situation, which we had not planned on. Best laid plans! -- The light rail, and Amtrak btw, both had stops close to our hotel, whereas our driver went around in circles unable to frind the hotel. So just saying, of course, delays can happen in any mode of transportation. Undeterred, I'm about the take the Coast Starlight to Seattle, spend 2 nights, then return by train. If you love BEING on a train, as I do, delays hardly matter. :) And no matter what time I get into Seattle, I'll wheel my suitcase the few blocks to my hotel, no problem. Happy travels to you guys! Looking forward to more of your enjoyable videos.

I grew up in WA and been to Seattle so many times but what’s cool about your video is covering things I’ve never seen cuz I moved to SoCal in 1985 which was the last time I visited Seattle itself. Seattle is def a pedestrian friendly city. Pikes place market, the monorail, and space needle are iconic must sees in my opinion. I’ve heard about the glass museum. I’d love to go one day. Usually when I’m in WA I’m visiting my mom so stick around Vancouver and Portland, which are also great places to explore on foot. Great public transportation. Tho having a car there can be a great advantage. But in Seattle having a car in town is not an advantage. Same with downtown Portland. Food and drink culture is fantastic in Seattle. Cute that you got a fancy rainier beer. Very local beer. It brings back memories of their old commercials from the 70s of frogs who end the night croaking out the sounds: rainier, beer, rainier, beer. It was a crazy commercial but it’s stuck in my brain forever. lol. Olympia beer is another local beer made in Tumwater WA and you can visit the park with the waterfall that’s the logo on the front of the bottles nearby the brewery in the town of Tumwater near Olympia. Well thanks again for the review of your travels. Glad you had such a great day in Seattle after such a crazy train trip up
