Hey guys, Samuel and Audrey here, and today we’re taking you on a massive food tour of the beautiful seaside city of Halifax, Nova Scotia!
This summer, we had the chance to spend a week exploring Halifax in partnership with Tourism Nova Scotia and the cuisine was a real highlight.
Our quest for a taste of the Maritimes led us to all sorts of restaurants, breweries, distilleries, pubs and outdoor patios, and we’re going to be sharing them all in this video. We’ll dive into the seafood scene with dishes ranging from lobster roll to risotto with scallops, and seafood linguini to fusion maki rolls.
We’ll taste the beloved Halifax donair, which is the city’s must-try dish and a great street food snack. We’ll also visit a few different craft breweries, go on a sunset wine cruise, and do a spirit tasting inside the citadel.

*Goes to Halifax* *Eats only at tourist traps* Okay if you come back, try: The Press Gang, order The Drill: it's four courses, chef's choice. Lot 6 for apps and cocktails. Barrington Steakhouse for the best steak you've ever eaten in your life. La Frasca over Bicycle Thief: it's their sister restaurant and the food quality is so much better. Two Doors Down: Order the smokehouse burger and deep fried mac n cheese. I swear it's the best burger I've ever eaten Black Sheep for an insane brunch. Best sushi: Fujiyama Best curry: Curry Village, order out because it's not a super dining atmosphere Also, how did you miss the market stalls at the Farmer's Market?!

Agreed! Although I suspect maybe some of these restaurants paid for a spot in the video? That list is looking good but just a few more to consider: Bar Kismet (best restaurant in Halifax imo), Kitsune (for sushi), Doraku Dartmouth (go for the omakase), Edna's (brunch or dinner), Dear Friend (great cocktail and snacks bar), and honestly the worst donair place with the best marketing has got to be Johnny K's...stick to K.O.D. on Quinpool.

So glad you enjoyed it. You missed so many other places for good food. Like the Cozy on Liverpool off Oxford for the huge Cozy burger and their pan fried haddock is one of the best in Halifax .. Tareks on Robie for his amazing Lebanese and Mediterranean cuisine and you get a choice of soup samples as you walk in. The list goes on
