Magnus endgame is scary, but his middle game is even scarier to me. Endgames are always more direct, to me the way he sets up his midgame to give himself an advantage in the endgame is just incomprehensibly high level.

The reason why Carlsen offered the Queen trade was the fact that after that, his Knight would jump to d6 and become the octopus knight; and as someone said that a knight on sixth rank is more powerful than a rook, then he decided to force Nakamura to trade that way.

18:48 I always feel my endgame has improved enormously after watching these Magnus videos. Since it is well known on Agad's channel that Capablanca didn't bother much with opening theory, it seems all I have to do is find a way of avoiding the middle game.

there was a game in 2016 that lasted over 120 moves.... the endgame was drawn, but naka pressed for the win and blundered by giving magnus the passed h-pawn.

It is very usual for an end game with 1 rock each and equal pawns not to be a draw. The difference here is the positions of the kings.

This was not just a win but a spanking. I like both of them, but the difference between a Super GM and the World Champ in chess must be immense. If Carlsen can hold his form in the championship, well.. it will be a short one. Just give Magnus some music for the games. ;-)
