World Champion Magnus Carlsen and 11 more of the world's best chess players are competing in the Chessable Masters by chess24, the 3rd event in the $1 million Magnus Carlsen Chess Tour, taking place from June 20 to July 5. The 12 players will first be reduced to 8 in a 4-day knockout stage split into two groups. The A Group features Magnus Carlsen, Hikaru Nakamura, Daniil Dubov, Alexander Grischuk, Vladislav Artemiev and Harikrishna.
The players play each other twice in rapid chess over 10 rounds, with the top 4 then advancing to the knockout stage. The time control is 15 minutes for all moves, with a 10-second increment from move 1. No draw offers are allowed before move 40. The tournament is sponsored by Chessable, the world's leading online chess training platform. Official website: chess24.com/tour

@magnafire1
@magnafire1 3 жыл бұрын
That is too funny. How did Agad think his opponents bishop could stop check mate hahhaha. Sad I didn't catch this. We just tend to believe what he says all the time without examining if he is right since we assume he is using engines. Lol I mean he does use engines but it's when he adds his own 2 cents that are mistakes sometimes.

Would you consider the move b4 to push the knight away a mistake in hindsight? Compromised the pawn structure and setup the zugzwang.

8:11 couldnt white have played KnightC4? Would have blocked the rook in the C file since its being defended with the pawn, unpins the rook and queen which would allow them to cause some threats on the A file right?

@agadmator y not play kingE2 to defend the night in a couple of moves and free the queen from knights defence?

@Agadmator just a suggestion that when one player resigns with plenty of pieces on the board, please spend more time explaining why a position is hopeless - for us amateur chess players we would find that valuable. In this particular video, it was nice to understand the comparison between Q vs. R/K/B, but it would have been great to see a couple variations demonstrating the power of the 3 pieces versus the Q. Thanks

@Agadmator, when you made that mistake on 5:25 you made me think of Tal's (ghost) knight, that was supposed to deliver checkmate, only to realize after minutes of calculation that it was his own knight. This time though, it's sort of reversed :)) Not to mention, this really looks like a Tal game :)
