This is an incredibly easy way to cook your steak in the oven. Use a cut of meat that has decent fat marbling for best results.
Ingredients
1lb steak, thawed
Olive oil
Salt and Pepper
Any other seasoning you’d like to use
Method
Start by placing your cast iron skillet in a cold oven and turn the broiler on High for 20 minutes.
Spray a sheet pan and place a piece of parchment paper down on it
Put the steak on the parchment paper
Spread olive oil on steak
Generously season with salt and pepper and any other seasoning you would like
Flip steak and do the same to the other side
Once the oven and skillet are hot, remove the skillet from the oven and place on a high heat burner.
Place the steak in the skillet to sear each side for 30 seconds
Once the steak has been seared on both sides, please the skillet back in the oven for 3 minutes each side for medium internal temp. (2 mins each side for more rare, 4 mins per side for well done).
When you have finished on both sides, remove steak to a cutting board and d tent with aluminum foil for 5 mins to rest.
Serve with potatoes, rice, or noodles and serve after 5 mins
One 1 lb steak will feed two people unless one of those people is my husband. Then you will need to cook two steaks 😁
