My favorite quilty gift was from my husband a few Christmases ago when he actually remembered I had said I wanted a special set of half rectangle rulers/templates. I was so surprised!! He was listening!!’.

When I was in college, I visited my great grandma who was in her 90s. She let me pick a quilt from her quilt box. I picked a drunkard path quilt she had made in the 1930s. It is my favorite quilt.

My favorite quilting gift that I received was the "wedding" quilt my church friends and I made when I got married in 1998. We all learned to applique the same block. It took my mother 20 years to hand quilt it because she was busy with other wedding, baby, and Christmas quilts, other hand work, a full time job, and LIFE. I mix it into my quilt rotation to think of those ladies I haven't seen since all my family moved away from that town. Some are no longer with us. ❤😢

My favorite quilting gift is a completely hand pieced and hand quilted twin size quilt made by my first quilting mentor. She gave me several quilts before her death in 2021. I treasure her memory and prolific quilting legacy.

A quilting friend of mine bought some fabric I was admiring and made it into a handbag for me, and I have been using it ever since. I love it. Goodbye designer bags!

The Karen Kay Buckley scissors also has serrated instead of a knife edge which grabs and holds the thread while cutting. My favorite tool, too.

My best sewing gift was the tan Singer Featherweight my dad bought me!! Legendary story--he got it for $8. Neither he nor the "junk shop" owner knew anything about it. Dad just thought it was cute and I might like a smaller machine to take to classes 😂❤

My favourite sewing gift I ever received was a brass handle seam ripper, awl and needle case that I continue to use after 30 years. The seam ripper is still really sharp (perhaps not too much reverse sewing over the years?!?) however, the sewing awl is a little bent!

I like stuffing if it is cooked in a separate pan and gets crispy and lightly browned on top! Much better than the soggy stuff from inside of the bird!

Sadly, nobody has ever given me a quilt or a quilting gift (no-one in my family have ever quilted though there were a couple of excellent seamstresses). Closest thing is a tile painted in a traditional star block pattern
