I get very emotional as well when putting my mother's old Christmas ornaments and decorations out since she passed 3 years ago, especially since I inherited her love of Christmas time. It's our favorite time of year. I have always been a very sentimental person and certain things get me very emotional and brings tears to my eyes. I also lost my father in September of this year and it is my first Thanksgiving and Christmas without both of my parents. It's going to be a very emotional time for me, but I know that they are still with me and would love for me to be happy and watching your videos is giving me the inspiration and joy of the holidays that I know my parents would love. I have added flocked pieces to my green trees and garlands for years - it works like a hot dang, like sprinkled snow on the edges. I made the picks by cutting up a fluffy flocked garland which allowed me to vary the lengths. And can I just say, when I’m watching you holding a pick and looking at the tree to decide where it should go, and I choose the spot in my mind and then you choose the SAME spot…the celebration within me is champagne-worthy!

Some would be like Kyle we have to start over, retake but you embrace your heartache and move forward, I love that. I too have learned to walk with grief alongside my love for everything else in this world. This will be my first Christmas without my son he passed away in May from brain cancer at the age of 37. I treasure everything that I hold that reminds me of him. Your emotions made me happy in a sense, sad in a sense I feel you, truly. I hope I'm conveying this the way that I feel like I am. I am sure your tree is not ugly Karen! I think a good rule of thumb for a tree 6 1/2 feet would be one dozen Green picks and a dozen sparkly pics. If you wanted to be extra, you could go up to 14 to 16 per❤️ Xo

Like a fresh one? Or like something just like that was designer that I was just decorating? I did a fresh one last year on my channel. You can go watch it. I am allergic to fresh Christmas trees. It was truly a sacrifice. I also did one for this year but I did it outside because indoors was really chaotic for my asthma. Or if you just want to watch me decorating a tree just for fun and not teaching those are on my channel to go look for the ones with the golden nutcrackers a couple days ago a Christmasing at home or the candy tree from last month… Those are more like just decorating a tree for the first time with you for a tree with the intention of staying put🫶🏻

I don’t use stems, I use crystal branches on top so that when the light hits them they twinkle, I tuck them in and around the existing branches and ribbon I have added. I tend to use a lot of clear ornaments on the edge of my branches along with icicles so the crystals on top blend well and look cohesive with the rest of my tree regardless of what colour ways I have chosen to use…. Each person has their own style so if you like stems out of the top to make a topper keep doing it!

I've tried to use picks in my artifical tree and I don't understand how to get them to stay. You make it look so easy but the branches at the top of my tree are not full or thick at all..how do I get a pick in without seeing the whole stick part through the branches? I want to use them so bad!!

What I do is take the smaller picks, pop them as Jeanna says and lay them into the branch! Because they have that bit of curve in them they tend to stay, if they don’t I try angling them a bit more by poking the stem into the existing branch. If all else fails I take a small piece of ribbon or twisty tie that matches my tree and attach it that way… same with tiny pieces of ribbon I’ve got that are not quite long enough for a proper tuck. Hope that helps! …been using picks for about 10 years now, was very hard to get stuff here in the UK then but now the shops here have cottoned onto the fact we want more!
