How to cook a prefect chuck roast right in the comfort of your own home! This recipe is a favorite of mine as it is full of flavor, so tender, and can be stored and enjoyed later. I show you how to prepare the chuck roast cut of beef, season the roast, which vegetables / herbs to use, and what temperature and how long to cook the roast so the beef is tender to taste. Classic Pot Roast Recipe
• Cover pot roast (2½ pounds) with olive oil and season
o 1 tablespoon kosher salt per side
o 1 tablespoon of fresh ground pepper per side
• Broil in oven
o Place in pan and broil on high for 10 minutes
• Place in pot
o Pour ½ inch of liquid into pot. Fill ¾ with beef broth and ¼
with Dale’s Seasoning
o Add 3 sprigs of rosemary
o Add 3 sprigs of thyme
o Add 2 onions sliced into quarter slices
o Add 4 carrots sliced into chunks
o Cover pot with tinfoil
• Place roast in oven for 2½ hours on 300 degrees F
• Remove from oven
o Add 6 small red potatoes halved
o Recover pot with tinfoil
• Place roast in oven for 2 more hours on 300 degrees F
• Once finished remove chuck roast, slice into tasty chunks, and
add them back to the pot.
