I’m not a good enough player to even care about amplifiers, but that’s one of the coolest sounding amps I’ve ever heard.

Great demo, dude. You really dial in a nice amount of bite, punch, and clarity that are missing in other demos of this amp. Shows how aggressive it can sound for a rock amp.

I just picked up one of these a few months ago and have been loving it so far. Seems these amps are starting to gain the notoriety they deserve.

Hello, any plans for some Mastodon anytime soon? How do you like latest record? I haven't seen or hear you upload or say anything about it and im curious because Mastodon is a frequent guest on the channel. I personally think its a bit watered down, has a lot of meandering, features good parts but the band seem not to find a good followup to it (it fits but loses what been accomplished by previous part), so to summarize some good parts (for example pain with an anchor outro or savage lands main riff) that have wrong followup which loses the interest of the listener. Also, to me, they overdid Brann's vocals, its just to much compared to Brent and Troy's vocals. Songs that stood out for me were awesome pushing the tides, more than i could chew and skeleton of splendor. What do you think as a fellow Mastodon aficionado?

@BenEller Жыл бұрын
Hot Cat is great! Overall, more gain, and smoother mids.
@theriffbandit9375 Жыл бұрын
so more gain and smoother mids on the hot cat? its the only one ive actually played but that was a few months ago for 15 min. thanks@@BenEller
@BenEller Жыл бұрын
Yeah, that’s correct. It’s a great amp, too. Just depends on how aggressive of tones you’re after.
@chasingtone57483 ай бұрын
This or the Soldano Astro?
@BenEller3 ай бұрын
VERY different amps. The bad cat has WAY less gain and beautiful cleans, the Astro can get way more aggressive. Depends on what you need, both are great!

I can't quite approximate the tone of bad cat amps. Sometimes they sound kinda like a modded marshall, this one sounds like a tweedy/jtm-like with reverb and tremolo, has its own thing. Need to try one in person so bad....cat?(sorry)
@Foolian1332 Жыл бұрын
definitely try to find one and play it yourself! you're right that they sprout from the british lineage (marshall, vox, orange, etc) but we tend to think of the "bad cat sound" as really being about a higher level of clarity and touch-responsiveness. the gain range, eq and general topology are a bit different across the lineup, but it's absolutely necessary that each amp retains that string separation and dynamic depth whether the gain is dimed or you're at bedroom levels, and to be tuned such that the full range of EQ settings stay musical and utilitarian. it's not easy to design an amp that's so responsive and flexible no matter how you set it and what guitar you feed it but that's typically the thing that makes players choose bad cat over the competitors.
@BenEller Жыл бұрын
To me, it’s a uniquely British tone, with elements of Vox AND Marshall amps.
