It's wonderful to see how your channel has really taken off over the last couple of years James, now almost at 190K subscribers so fast approaching the big 200K already, it's incredible... BRAVO!!! Really impressive!!!! And obviously a testament to the quality of your content!

Kipchoge is just an absolute machine. That form alone would save him precious seconds per kilometer. I am in awe.

I think we've found out quite a bit. Kipchoge has put out more 1st place finish in the marathon than any man in history, whereas Bekele struggled with injuries later in his career. That says a lot.

Lots of guy just can't handle the mileage. Bekele is one of them. He's better suited for the 10k and 5k. Which he has dominated kipchoge in in their earlier years. Too injury prone to make the transition

Is it possible that Bekele’s being prone to injury is due to the running mechanics that James pointed out in comparison to Kipchoge? Kipchoge makes it look effortless, which is the way I prefer to run instead of Bekele’s “power”. Maybe the “power” is really more exertion due to less efficient mechanics, and hence more wear and tear.

@@wazzateh9518 theres no such thing as u prefer to run in that way. It comes down to the individual. If u make bekele run "efficient" its likely not gonna workout well

When Kipchoge is swinging his arm forward, his upper arm never comes forward past the vertical line at the side of his chest. I believe he's transferring that energy into increased stride length🤔

Bekele has the ultimate phenotype for the long distance running. His long legs and short body are such a cheat code. He just will never have the strength kipchoge does because he's too injury prone at theonger stuff.

@@wazzateh9518 Height difference may have something to do with their difference in form. Most runners who emulate Kipchoge are probably around his height. Bekele is 165 cm. Someone such as I who is 162 cm would probably better emulate Bekele than Kipchoge as I do not have the limb length of Kipchoge. However, I believe even with similar height, each of us has our own unique way of running most efficiently, and that would also depend on pace, terrain, and fatigue levels of muscle groups.

+REZZ BUILDS I much prefer Bekele on the track and at cross-country. Marathon running doesn’t seem suitable for him, but he also may have other issues.

Being smaller (and lighter) is actually an advantage over the longer distances. Shorter levers require less energy to move than longer ones.
