PERFECT teen bedroom? IKEA Neiden wooden double bed with Luroy and Hovag mattress

We put up this Ikea Neiden wooden double bed for our 12 year old boy's bedroom. It was meant to be a How To but ended up being speeded up because it took 3 hours. With the Neiden Bed Frame there's also Ikea Luroy bed slats and Ikea Hovag mattress. Here's a review: they are fantastic - he loves the bed and it looks great... and it's the cheapest bed we could find!

That bed does go together quite well considering its suppose to be the cheaper end of the scale. I was tempted by this one when we bought our son a ikea bed 2 months ago but we decided to go for another one instead lol Good vlog as always

Ahh thanks Tony - I think I glossed over quite how difficult it was to line everything up in the middle. You probably had a very narrow escape!

"3 months on and its still in the garage" - When I bought my house I had 2 lovely sofas that I just couldn't get into the living room. 1 spent 6 months up on end in the kitchen as had no takers and the other is still in the shed. I smashed 1 up and the other im just waiting on time off work to be able to smash that one up and take it to the tip. So 4 years in the shed haha :/

Haha - on its side is perfect. We've got a desk on its side - it's like a furniture delay area. There must be a technique to smashing up sofas - there must be a video in there for you somewhere!

Hi Really sorry to hear this - we got stuck here too. Here's how you do it. Use the LONG bolt from the bed side section to pull together the middle section, then take the long bolt out and replace with the correct shorter bolt. Hope this helps!

Hi John Thanks for the kind question Don't know if this is the same thing but I got totally stuck on step 11 I couldn't get the middle bar to fit The only way I solved it was to use the wrong longer bolt to draw the bar into place so the frame could come together Then remove it to put the correct bolt in instead Hope some of this makes sense It was the hardest part of the whole thing

Hi Carla Thanks for the kind question - ours is really sturdy and doesn't creak: it's on carpet and used by a 15 year old but 2 years on it's still really good for us. Hope this helps

Thanks - that bar down in the middle was the killer for us. We had to get a long bolt from the side and use that to pull it together to the frame... take the long bolt out and put the shorter one you're meant to put there... Took me ages to work that out.
