PerfectDraft Ghost Ship, how much!?! When it's £1.80 a bottle? Is it worth it?

Hi Baldy. I’ve had Ghost ship in bottle & on Cask and the cask is a far better beer. The cask is less carbonated & far more balanced in terms of flavours, you get the citrus/grapefruit initial taste, the biscuity malt backbone and decent medium mouthfeel/body and the bitter hoppy finish with a pine resin & grapefruit bitter bite. In bottles I find you get the citrus hints on the initial taste but the biscuit malts is almost none existent with just a bitter but none distinguishing bitter finish. The bottles do suffer from skunking if they are badly stored in the shops but it’s something a lot bottled beers suffer from especially from supermarkets as they just don’t store their beer correctly. After having about half a keg over the past week The PD keg for me sits in between the bottle & the cask although closer to the cask. The taste profile & body are similar but the PD keg seems to be more carbonated & slightly less smooth and carry’s a slight harshness overall, saying that it’s streets ahead of the bottles. Hi BBR, hope you’ve had a good weekend, great review glad what you said about bottle v keg because I’ve got a keg of ghost ship and your review has made me look forward to the keg as for the mini kegs not for me. I’d feel like I had to drink nearly 9 pints in two days and sometimes I can’t. Thanks for the mention, I have always had the bell rang 😂. Hi Baldy. Loving the thoroughness!!!! Ive actually had this in can, bottle, party keg and pub draft and to be honest they've all tasted different. Tbh, despite the aforementioned it's never been a major fave of mine the last 10 years or so (think it was released halloween 2010 or 2011). I'll drink it if its the best option on the table but wouldn't choose it as a first. It won't be one on the PD I'll be getting as quite frankly i won't imagine it'd be different enough on PD (i.e. Totally different) to warrant a purchase over the others available. Great review as always and I think comparisons would be a great regular addition to the reviews! Have a top one sir 👍

Another fantastic review. Love your dry sense of humour. Surprised the difference is so vast from bottle to keg. Look forward to the Vocation (not had yet) and the Innis and Gunn (had that, it’s okay, average for me).

Good review as always, just picked up a bottle of Camden hells from morribobs, to try before I pull trigger on the keg. Albeit bottles are 660ml and 2.50-3.00 (can't remember) so not sure if I'll get the keg... its pricey!

Totally agree with everything on the bottle...much deeper/darker color and like you, was not a big fan of it, a very strange taste. So seeing this keg totally different i may try the ghostship again!
