I live on Oahu and just switched over to Sony cameras so your videos have been extremely helpful when navigating a new operating system. Mahalo!

Thanks so much for the great video, Matt. I really appreciate the clarity and organization in the way you presented the information. I’d love to see a tutorial on how you color correct and grade your S-Log footage, as that’s been one of my biggest challenges. I’m still struggling to achieve a sharp image without it looking flat and grainy.

@@WakeUpMatt the fact you must overexposed everytime, and with the 2500 base ISO, you have a lot of noice. Then in post you see underexposed if you set for social

wondering when working with fx3 after the red komodo, do you see that the sony image is bit worse, like more digital, lesser colors? or it is just different but on same level. how you would describe the difference in image quality?
@WakeUpMatt2 ай бұрын
@@RafalGendarz the Komodo x image is great. 6k RED raw was fantastic, but for the work that I do and for my client’s needs, no one can tell the difference. And if they do require or request RED, I can always rent and put that in the budget. The KX just came with too many frustrations for my workflow and needs to justify the image quality.

@@WakeUpMatt Yes thank you for the answer. my question was, if you can sense the image quality on Sony is of lesser quality or it’s just „other”

These techniques are geared for real filmmakers who have control of their scene (i.e. lighting). As a YT scrub, I rely heavily on Zebras instead since I rarely connect an external monitor. Personally, I'm not a big fan of the +1.7 rule - it depends heavily on your scene. I was out shooting today and had to adjust down to +.3 to get the proper exposure. Good tips nonetheless!

That’s fair, although I do still use all these techniques when I’m shooting more doc style without any lights. But I appreciate the feedback! Zebras are definitely a great call too!
