Really cool to see how all these content creators fundamentally, created an industry from scratch and built a brand that revolves around a person. Or in some cases, many individuals as an embodiment. This is impressive when you really consider how much work and dedication to computers, informing the people, and making connections/networking has to happen, they managed to take a little niche sliver of the market, and evolve it into a mainstream relevant and profitable business. But it truly is business as usual at Computex this year, and all the creators that helped to build up the value of this platform as a media outlet in -not only gaming, but computer/IT sector as well- *_the world_* really do deserve to enjoy themselves and reconnect with each other. Cheers

Seeing Steve GamersNexus and Leo Kitguru chatting amiably in the background and all the interactions between the best tech youtubers around has been my highlight of this reunion Computex. It's not some marketing bs "youtube community", it's an actual *community*. Thanks for this highlight video, Paul! Phanteks aren't usually my kind of style but I can't fault the quality of their designs. There are some great ideas especially around making things optional and modularity. I didn't think I'd ever consider a PSU that doesn't include cables but Phanteks is making it sensibly.
@benjaminoechsli1941 Жыл бұрын
Wendell from Level1Techs mentioned hunting you down in his Computex video. Could it be Tech Jesus beat him to it? ;P Shipping cables separately from the PSU when you'd just discard the ones that came with anyway is a great idea!

For most things I only care about performance. A fan, for example, should move air as appropriate to it's use and be quiet. LEDs don't affect either of those so I don't care about them. You can stick them on if you want but I won't pay extra for something I don't care about. It's the same for memory or graphics cards, or anything, really. I never look at my computer when I'm using it so I get zero benefit from LEDs. I really only look at my computer at all if something is wrong, I'm cleaning it, or I'm upgrading something. I worry that there will come a day when they charge extra for things without LEDs.

I really hope Phanteks has sorted their led yellowing. I've loved everything else about my Halos except for whites being yellow. And I'll keep saying it, Phanteks needs to make a SYNCRO case. They already work with Seasonic, so why not use their adapter thing. Make it a threesome and add in Cablemod as well. Phanteks designed case with Seasonic Syncro and Cablemod cables, it's perfect. Keeping it inverted is a plus, but makes it an easy recommend and buy.

I like the removable shroud to access the back of the PSU. Building my wife's system was a certified nightmare. There was plenty of room for the PSU between the non-removable drive cage and back of the case, but the actual opening to pass it through wouldn't allow me to slide it in with the modular cables plugged in. It was a major PITA trying to plug the cables in with the PSU installed. You'd think by 2023 when HDDs are used so rarely they'd at _least_ make the drive bays removable on all cases. Especially when we're far past the days when PSUs were mounted in the top of cases and modular PSUs have been affordable for years.

LOL Hi Steve! Phanteks does some pretty cool stuff. My last case was Phanteks. I went with a Corsair this time, and a Corsair cooler too. I've kinda regretted both decisions a bit. The case is kinda okay, and it's got a lot of features, but … I didn't ultimately have the option to use the ones I wanted to use together. Plus I'm mad at Corsair because when people asked them for info to talk to their hardware to write Linux drivers, they told us they had no desire to help us use their hardware. So … if that's what they want, sure.

I hate that all the fan makers are going MORE proprietary, not less. I bought a set of 3 fans just a couple years ago and when one had the bearings go out recently I either had to hunt down the same model or replace them all because of those f*cking proprietary connections to their hub. I just tossed them all and made sure to buy only ones with industry standard connections. Especially when even staying with the same maker doesn't help as they constantly change their own shit. Segmentation is getting worse, not better.

I wish Phanteks would bring back their silver and gray colorways for cases. The "Galaxy Silver" on the Evolv X (RIP) looked so good! Speaking of that, I wish they would bring the Evolv case series back!! I wanted an Evolv X for my next build, but I couldn't afford it at the time that it was actually available new. I'm tired of all the black and white rectangle boxes saturating the market, and the angular lines on the Evolv series looked so sick! Not to mention that case in general was awesome, inside and out. I know the P600S has the same internal layout, but it doesn't look as good on the outside IMO. If they do bring the Evolv X back, I want them to do a metal back panel like on the P600S, though. Double glass panels are so dumb, especially when the Evolv X had those cover doors to hide cables. Like what's the point? Lol.

A lot of people are going for that Hyte type looking case with the 2 glass panels and doing the straight up and down GPU placement.. A friend of mine at work just did a build about 6 months back like that.. He used the 12700 and a 3070TI, I think.. We both did build's right before the new GPU's came out.. He went with the 3070 and I got the 6800XT. But anyway I love my White PHanteks P500A. It's a great case perfect size for these huge GPU's they are Making..

@11:05 Micro USB for the LCD screen??? they should have gone for type-c and used that for display as well as power delivery. Personally, at the prices Phanteks are asking, they could have at least shipped some fans with these cases.
