In the beginning, the guy you were following could wait drastically longer into the corner to flick instead of flicking early and crossing the center line. If he rides more forward with his body next to the bike instead of on top it will help him speed up easily 25-35% through corners. You can lay your body off to the inside and crank the throttle wide open in alot of those corners.

First of all your videos are great. Love the performance bagger content. How much rise do you have in your bars? I bought a RGS recently and I'm trying to figure out the best setup. I'm looking at Kraus Wolf One setup 10 inch rise 1.5" pullback. Do you think that's a comfortable set up or would I need more pullback? I'm 6'3" if it that helps. Not sure how tall you are? Any feedback would be great thanks!

Do you think if Harley built a bike with the same style and engine layout, but with a 4-5" taller seat height, 6-7" higher ride height (or much narrower down low), mono-shock rear and 5-6" of travel front and back, integrated primary drive and transmission (to shorten up the motor package which allows for a longer swingarm in the same wheelbase), and ditched the double cradle frame in favor of a backbone or perimeter frame or other new design (to drop weight, make it more rigid, and allow the motor to be mounted further forward and to gain ground clearance) that it would be a hit, and just what y'all are lookin for, or that those changes would make it too different from the current crop of bikes, or a Dyna, for people to like it? Sorry, yeah, I know, that's a helluva long sentence. But really! I ride all types of bikes as a mechanic, and I prefer riding sport touring bikes on the road because they're basically a big comfy bagger with great wind protection that's meant for traveling, but have tires, brakes and suspension more like a sport bike, so you can lean something like my BMW R1150RT to 50º without changing anything more than springs and preload. It weighs 615lbs and has about 90hp; not the fastest or slowest bike, and it'll cruise at 110mph as long as you'd want, topping out about 140mph. As I watch more and more people putting tall shocks, inverted forks, 17" wheel, nice big floating rotors and up-swept 2-1 pipes on their Harleys, and especially when I ride customer bikes, and peaking last weekend with King Of The Baggers, it seems like a lot of these riders essentially are looking for more of the performance; lean angle, easily modulated brakes that don't fade, and dank woolies of sport touring bikes, but it has to have that style and a Harley motor. Which as a BMW rider and Moto Guzzi fan, I totally get falling in love with the character of a particular engine configuration. It just seems like Harley would have a slam-dunk hit on their hands if they built a bike that doesn't look or run any different, but was a little taller and takes Michelin Road 5 tires.

Did you watch the King of the Baggers Laguna Seca race on Saturday? There is now another “2nd Place” Harley-Davidson in addition to yours! It’s the orange Vance & Hines 131” Street Glide. I think everyone is going to build performance baggers by copying the V&H race bike specs. You should maybe build one just like that and then see if you can beat the race lap time of 1 minute, and 34 seconds!
@schamberlin51503 жыл бұрын
Hardy har har. Your a funny man. Do you see how my bikes set up? Lifted 4” in rear and 3” up front. Did that before most did
@briandickter27243 жыл бұрын
It is slightly comical that half of the Harleys in the King of the Baggers race were lapped and DNF’d. I’m sure your 124” RGS would have been competitive in that field. And those “race” bikes were all specifically built just to go 8 laps! You actually ride yours 1000s of miles and probably could have ridden your bike to Laguna Seca and still beat over half of those so called “professional” racers.
