From other testers we can see that the new agesa brought us 2% more performance for 6% more powerdraw. It seems like the 9xxx series will stay in the shops for all gamers until the x3ds arrive...

KZbinr called "Ancient Gameplays" got boosts after he used some uninstaller program to uninstall ALL old hardware drivers then did a fresh install of windows with latest drivers. also I think if you have like VBS turned on in settings, that also cuts the performance gain some.

i upgraded from win 10 to win 11 with this patch and i had 15 to 20 fps on average more in sc - 3440x1440, 5800X3D, 4070ti, 32Gig ram, ASUS Crosshair 7 hero with latest bios This was a huge improvement for me

Thanks for doing this. I did my own testing in Homeworld 3 with my 5800X3D/3080 10GB. It got a really nice bump on my minimum frames. Homeworld 3 has a nice built-in benchmark that makes it easy to test with. On Epic settings with ray tracing, I went from 23 FPS min to 33 FPS min. That is a nice jump and went from a very stuttery run to smooth. I had wondered if I would see any difference in SC. SC is still so unoptimized so as we get deeper and deeper into Vulcan we might see more benefits from this patch.

Great video as always.. on my side, don't know if it's a coincidence with 3.24 or not, but both with the KB5041587 make me feel the game a little bit smoother in most of the cases with a 7950x3D (less random stutters and slightly a bit more fps here and there)

Latest Zen-5 EPYC server CPU benchmarks are giving 2x performance ! (Which is a fantastic result). I think it's obvious Zen-5 was developed purely to win in the server market, while the gaming side of Zen-5 was only tweaked afterwards to not have it lose to Zen-4.

This result was very surprising. Some games were getting around 15 - 30% improvements. Maybe once Vulkan is properly implemented and optimized we will see some benefits. Oh well, at least I don't have to move from Win 10 just yet. For some reason I'm dreading going to 11.

My 5600x w/3060 12GB works great. I’m playing in 1080P with 66% scaling setting. Other than the usual recommended things to turn off VSync clouds, etc.I’m using Very High and default graphic setting. When OLEDS drop in price I’ll get a 1440P OLED, my current monitor is an older 4k but it’s pretty decent.

@@dabbatron420 I hadn't been monitoring it much lately, but checked today at NB personal hangar and I had 60 to around 75 in the PH and while ships were coming up on the elevator. I'd say 70 or close to it was the average, but never dropped below 60. I haven't done much today other than claiming ships, then spawning them now that my PH is working.

If you look at the patch notes for Microsoft's update package that supposedly enables this, there is zero mention of it. Nada, zilch. You'd think that an average 10% framerate increase in a lot of popular video games plus whatever the equivalent is for productivity apps would be worthy of at least a few words. I strongly suspect the actual perf boost is in 24H2 like Microsoft actually said, and we've all been taken for a ride by a handful of youtubers.

I installed the update and my system is a 5900X, 6950XT, with vulcan selected, and no upscaling in SC. I too saw no perceptible improvement sadly.

It isn't matter of "it's probably worth installing". Microsoft is going to force you to install it if you are on Windows 11 and have TPM turned on. This is the same Windows update that includes a uninstallable version of Windows Recall AI and the investors are salivating at all of your sweet, sweet data it will collect. FYI, the AI part of Recall involves scanning the screenshots it takes and stores every 15 and using AI to look at those screenshots for info that is valuable. Also, a series on getting Star Citizen to work in Linux Mint would be interesting. Maybe use a separate SSD so to ease switching back and forth and just changing the boot priority in the BIOS.

I suggested Mint because it appears to be the easiest for new linux users. To be honest, I don't know what version(s) of linux will run Star Citizen. I know Proton is a piece of software that allows a lot of (most?) games on Steam to run on linux distros and I know aspects of that statement may be incorrect. I do know that the Steam Deck runs a version of Arch Linux and that people have gotten SC to run on the Steam Deck, for whatever that is worth.

Windows Recall is only for a small number of ARM laptops with NPU hardware. Plenty of real stuff to hit Microsoft with, making stuff up that's easy to disprove just weakens your argument.

I mean just look at the 5700X3D vs 5800X3D when both run with the same 3800 RAM and timings There is a large difference in frequency but negligible difference between them And thats because the game is memory speed starved way more than CPU performance limited

Well does this affect windows 10? Didn't find any info about that. If you combine this speed boost with fast ram + ram overclock + cpu overclock you might get ahead of 7800x3d. Or we'll you can buy 7800x3d instead of tinkering in the bios for 100+ hours 😂

unlock your FPS limit in SC is set to 60 go into the console (~ key) type sys_MaxFps = 300 and sys_MaxIdleFps = 300 or open the user.cfg file and add it in there I use 300 because it is the max, it will never get thst high outside of menu but still its the "max" setting

And furthermore, there a a lot of other things you can tweak inside of the USER.CFG file besides that, I'm not going to give away all the details because I could teach a master class on the subject as I have been messing with them for over 6 years now and I also have a way to force the game to use all the cores (it's hit or miss) but I have a 7700x and 6800, 64gb@ 6000Mhz and see on average from 40-90 in most cities and as high as 120FPS in other scenarios. I also play 1080 native no upscaling with Vulcan on and have been for a long time even before it was implemented in the software (had to use a specific driver and some soft mods to windows) and it has been amazing, sans bugs...
