i have 2021 Sti....do you know why my stock oem brembo brake pads wear unevenly? and its not the chamfer, cause chamfer is coming from 2 ends. i took it to dealership and said it normal....also started squealing at 4,000 mileage...but dealer said also normal because it needs to warm up. but i drove 15 miles before i got to dealership....thanks

I had the same "issue" and took it to the dealership and they said it was fine. If you are looking at the pads without taking the wheels off, it might look like they are wearing unevenly but they arent. I changed my pads yesterday and the pads just have a curve on both ends. And the squealing, they are performance pads, so they will squeal here and there

Do these mentioned parts work on 2018 wrx models? Or only for 2018 wrx sti models?
@Jayflex232 жыл бұрын
No. 2018 sti has the 6 pot front 2 pot rear it’s not compatible with wrx unfortunately

those rotors and breakes are extreme hard to be found in Germany, here no one can understand how 2018 Sti is with bigger breaks... so in every part catalog.... there are only breaks and discs for 2017 model....

We can send parts to Germany pretty easily. The discs are a bit expensive to ship - roughly $100ish per pair if I was to guess. But - they are the correct ones. They are hard to get right now though. We are waiting on our KNS blanks and DBA slotted.

Why don't rotors list rotational inertia or thermal capacity or temperature of likely warping? Why don't brake pads list co-efficient of friction vs. temperature? I've written several companies asking and no one replied. Why do rims not list rotational inertia? Why do companies not list relevant statistics for their products? As an analogy, if I was buying oil I would want the viscosity vs temperature and the film strength.... Know of any companies that list relevant statistics?

That is a lot of engineering data to compile.
@lifeisgood0704 жыл бұрын
@@knsbrakes608 ..... So what you're saying is that stuff is way to hard to compile or test.... even to engineer a product? Or if it was even tested during engineering having a reference to the test would be far too time consuming? So how do you guys do product design then? Model it in solidworks then use a rule of thumb for plate thickness that avoids warping? And then pass it off to a marketing team to come up with bullshit terms? Maybe the temp vs. initial friction would be hard. You'd have to have a temperature sensor and one of those brake machines seen on EngineeringExplained channel. But rotational inertia.... come on.

When not listed , they dont wnat you to know. Look at Enkei wheels, they list weight only for ligher wheels. Likewise, Subaru sells a light wheeled typa RA , but never advertised that the 2018 oem wheels are now 28 pounds, up 6 pounds from previous year.

@@lifeisgood070 Laser thermometers are like 15$ on Amazon or a IR Imager is like 200$ and you're almost there.
