First gun of 2019 that I'm excited about! Love the shield..4 inch with a red dot would be ideal. I don't care about the magazine capacity.. I'm glad my old mags(I have 10) will still fit. Plenty of nice extended mag options available if your butt hurt.

It's just impossible to go wrong with anything from the M&P line. I have three 9mm (full frame and compacts) of the original line while the 2.0 line has only made them even better. So easy, so reliable (zero failures after thousands of rounds). After years of wanting a .22, I finally pulled the trigger (so to speak) last week and LOVE that addition to my M&P collection. There are tons of guns on the market, but S&W just made it so easy to get pretty much a single platform - just pick your preferred caliber. I'd love a new 2.0, but my originals function so well it's difficult to justify, although there is always more room in the gun safe...hahaha.

I'm a fan of the shield, it is my EDC. I even took a class with Rob Pincus with it, when everyone else was shooting full sized.. This is so exciting. I'm going to have to save some pennies ad upgrade.

Use a Hyve +2 mag extension on your 8 round mag.

Take my money!!! Omg gadda have this gun !! I need ppl on KZbin to start reviewing it so I can fill the void untill it's in my hand !! And guys the 10rd mag hasn't came out yet but use the magguts plus 2mag kit!! It gives you 10rounds in your 8rd mag with out haveing a huge plus two extention hanging off .. I carry mine with the 7rd mag that I put the plus 2 in so I have 10rds in my gun I love it

Of course, I just bought a Shield that I am doing the Apex kit and Ameriglo sights on. If I wanted a 4” barrel, I would just go with the 2.0 Compact. Perhaps have the side milled for an RMR.

My current EDC is my .45 Shield, and I couldn't be happier with it, and now you guys go and do this! Well, at least if I buy the new Performance Center .45 Shield, I'll already have a ton of magazines for it! But I'll still need to get new holsters for it because of the longer slide/barrel. Not a big deal... But man, I don't know about the RMR that comes with it - you guys have said virtually NOTHING about the red dot optic that comes with it - who makes it, size and color of the dot (red or green, or switchable?), battery life, etc... I'd like to hear about the red dot optic that you're mounting on that slide!

I cannot find information anywhere For 2019, is the M & P series pistol used in the army or in any of their formations?

Most of the US military is using the Sig P320, some regiments use other pistols, some use the glock 19, some use sig p226s, etc. I don't know of any that use m&p. However, there are a number of police departments that use them. E: I forgot to mention not all service members are currently issued p320s, plenty still have beretta, like the m9a1.

Yeah. An RMR cut. Not some proprietary optic. I understand doing it for the shield because it's so slim. But if they do it for the 2.0 compact hopefully they do it just like their Core Series.
