I just bought a set of the 50/50 performance darts 22 gram and I absolutely love them that smooth section is so comfortable and the nice ring grip in the back for my thumb and index finger just a awesome dart

I'm sure you'll like them. Please let me know what you think the coating feels like. I thought it was one of the best coated darts I've ever thrown. I battered them all day today and I just had a look. I found only the tiniest of scratches my the rings. This coating is incredibly strong! Throw ANY black coated dart on the market and within 15-20 minutes it looks like they've been into a war. Not these. Of course being smooth helps

Worldwide Darts I received my Adam Smith/Neale darts a few days ago and absolutely love them . I repointed to some 38 mm harrows ridge points too which made a big difference for me. Not a single scratch after couple days . For a smooth dart surprisingly they have a warm non slip grip to them . Love them !!

I like the smoothies. For some reason, and not sure if it is just my screen, but these appear to my eye to be tapered ever so slightly from front to back, almost like a bulb-front style. Probably just some optical illusion, or maybe a result of the lens on your close-up camera, and if you say they're straight barrels, I'm sure they are. I like the minimalist style of grip rings too, it adds just enough aesthetically and aids function. And have you noticed that when you're throwing while talking and sharing your thoughts, you pound that trip-20?

Impressive wasn't it? The fella has a ton of determination and desire. Most would have withdrew but he gave it a go. Much respect. hell, he played better than most players with 2 good legs lol

@@WorldwideDarts It definitely took a lot of grit to prop himself up on a crutch for every single throw. You could tell he was in pain, but wouldn't give up. If I remember, he said in an interview that it was his first opportunity to play Lakeside and he wanted the experience because he didn't know if he'd get another chance. Turns out he was right.

Great review as always ! it's funny you mention the end of the barrel and the shaft not having a smooth transition, i've recently switch to L style spinning shafts and flights to try and stop the endless robin hoods and huge deflections i have been getting lately (this was before I saw your Robson flights review). It turns out the L style spinning shaft is slightly narrower than the end of the barrel of my 21g nano grip Bunting darts. This 'step' actually means I now have a more consistent grip position (as i actually grip the dart right on that joint) - this accidental discovery has actually improved my game noticeably in the past few weeks. I love the front weighted Buntings, but i might pick up a set of these ASN darts at some point as I also love the smoother darts.

What is the specific reason for using a spinning stem? And are you in the USA by chance?

Worldwide Darts I don't have a particularly hard throw (it's not that lobbed though) so deflections mostly mean the dart often doesn't have enough momentum to hold in the board or it defects a long way. I've only been playing since the end of January but as I've been improving my groupings are becoming tighter and I was getting more and more darts falling out or Robin hoods, like maybe 2-3 Robin hoods and 10-20 darts falling out every session, it was a bit annoying so I thought I'd try the spinners. Zero Robin hoods with the L-style flights and I'm actually only getting a deflection every now and again that throws the dart out the board per session now. No, I'm actually based in Switzerland.

@@emmsone If you eliminated the lip on the front of your darts that would solve most of the issues. It's that lip that causes most of the wild deflections and flight damage. In the long run spinners won't help.

@@WorldwideDarts Thanks, yea i'm using the trident nose cones at the moment but i did order some harrows apex sabre points from dartscorner this morning as the tridents get chewed up quite quickly. Weirdly the L-style non-spinners don't have that thinner shaft at the screw, so they are the same flush to the barrel as any other shaft.

The Performance logo makes me think of the ‘70’s. Like the font that old TV show “Real People” used to use. I was eyeing these and the Designa V2 Smoothies. I love black darts BUT I really liked the V2’s Taper. So I went with the V2’s BUT these darts are still in “My Favorites” list on Darts Corner in case I ever want to change.

I’m a pub player. I used to be a lot better but I just captain a team in my local league now. I played Adam today in a darts comp. I had 15 darts at double and couldn’t finish first leg. Won second then couldn’t finish in third and fourth….good game tho.

I've always used the Harrows Wolfram 95% darts because they don't have an aggressive grip. I have rough hands so I have a natural grippy grip. I've always been interested in trying a set of smooth darts. Might give these a go.

Usually with a smooth barrel dart they will feel a bit slick for the first 2-3 minutes of playing but as they warm to your hands they become very grippy... but in a different sort of way. I'm like you with the rough hands. I can't use a grippy dart or else my rough hands just get hung up on the barrel.

That would be my concern with the coating is wear n tear from the get go, I know theyd probably wear out in time. They feel like black widdows at all? Great video as always! If I had a channel like this I would banging those 26's all day haha 😂 Boom! Cheers🍻

Since these are smooth I believe the coating will last 10x longer on them compared to a grippy dart or a multi ring dart. I'm generally NOT a fan of coatings at all but on these darts is was brilliant.

Those look awesome I have been looking for a dart that size that is smooth the length of the barrel and has grip on the rear of the dart. I think I would prefer more grip in the rear but definitely worth a look.

Thank you Paul. Changing the points is easy enough if you have a repointer. But with such a rare set I would use caution. Make sure you know what you're doing before attempting it.

With light darts you can sometimes get away with smaller flights to make them travel quicker through the air. Maybe slim's? Also, if they're falling out you should scuff your points. Just the first 10mm of them by the point. Don't go crazy with it but just give them a light scuff with sandpaper and repeat as needed. They will stick in the board much better

Yes sir, the notification pops up if it's new or old. I would 100% go with the Designa Smoothies. These darts have a blunt nose cone and the Designa's are more tapered. I'd throw on a Target Storm and they'd be perfect 👍

This review begs the question,why not copper tungsten darts,instead of fancy coatings that wear out sooner or later?Copper tungsten darts have the warm feel of brass,tremendous grip,and just look and feel better with age.Copper tungsten forever!

Good question. The only thing I can think of is that copper tungsten is usually 80% tungsten and that's going to make for some rather chunky darts.

Of course the lighter darts will be reasonable dimensions but the 24g and heavier are going to be quite chunky. Not always as it depends on length as well but there's no getting around the 80% thing. But I do suspect that's why it's not used so much nowadays. Custom Made darts in the UK made me a set of CT's a few years ago. It was a soft tip set as I played a lot of soft tip back then. The local Bosnian pub was close to my house so it was easy to stroll over and get some games in
