Jenny Tschiesche, founder of the Lunchbox Doctor, teams up with taekwondo legend Lutalo Muhammad, a two-time Olympic medallist, to talk about gut health in episode four of a special series of nutrition videos launched by SportsAid and Aldi!
Jenny is a well-established broadcaster and author who has developed recipes for the BBC and Cancer Research - as well as many leading brands of kitchen equipment and health food. She provides advice and tips on how nutrition links to sleep, competition and recovery.
Aldi, the UK’s fourth-largest supermarket, provides talented young athletes with financial support, recognition and personal development opportunities through its Rising Stars programme with SportsAid.
Each beneficiary on the programme is provided with funding to help towards costs such as travel, accommodation, equipment and nutrition. They also receive workshop sessions on a range of topics to help nurture athletes for their sporting endeavours and beyond.
This includes top tips on healthy eating and performance nutrition, restful sleep, managing mental wellbeing and how to make the most of the opportunities provided by the world of social media.
In addition, the talented young athletes, who have been nominated to SportsAid by the governing bodies of their respective sports, play a key role in the promotion of the supermarket’s ‘Get Set to Eat Fresh’ programme, which aims to educate children on the importance of a healthy diet.
