Simply Three is bringing the instruments out of the background in this performance, and creating an experience of music you won't be able to get out of your head.
Blending innovative arrangements of classical music with today's popular songs, Simply Three offers a fresh approach and an entertaining program for all ages. Comprised of violinist Alex Weill, cellist Zack Clark, and bassist Nicholas Villalobos, Simply Three came together in 2010. They released their first self-published album in 2011 and have earned critical and popular acclaim across the US. Hailed by the Boston Philharmonic, "They've got what it takes," Simply Three is capturing the essence of quality programming and entertainment. By incorporating their classical virtuosity and captivating style, they have created a renewed excitement for instrumental music.
Their programming includes a variety of invigorating arrangements of popular songs by Adele, Coldplay, Gotye, to name a few, as well as Operatic favorites, virtuosic fiddle music and original compositions. Each member of the trio is personally dedicated to enhancing the classical music experience and educating the next generation of musicians. Their commitment to musical excellence, entertainment, and fresh approach to fusing pop and classical music, have inspired thousands of audiences across the nation.

Amazing... All of them showed so much emotion...... and passion for their instrument.. particularly the violinist. That said, I couldn't help but notice that her bow wasn't very close to the bridge, or particularly straight. I have been taught to do this from very early on in my music lessons....

It does not matter where your bow is placed. It actually is used in technic with doing dynamics like piano and forte, not pressure with the bow. The bow also does not have to be straight.. actually it shouldn't. If it is tightened too much (the stick is straight and the hairs are) then it could be damaging for the bow. Just saying xD

Morganism Ah ok. With the bow being straight, I meant compared to the bridge, so perpendicular to the strings when looking down onto the violinist... Not the tightness of the hair

Ah xD stupid me. Yes you also do not have to have it align with the bridge, though sometimes the diagonal placement of the bow happens on accident. Hope this clears up any misconceptions xD Just trying to help fellow orchestral players!

Morganism You're not stupid; I didn't explain myself particularly clearly 😊 Ok thanks

It is very interesting to see that you can do anything you want ONLY after you learn the technique properly. I have seen that the best swimmers does not have the 100% best technique, her small finger looks differently curved and not relaxed, best volleyball players do not hit the ball with the hands close... But they are still insanely awesome. :D I think ... you have to learn it properly then change it with your own style.

Ok. I play violin, and honestly, the violinist is not in tune sometimes. It's really sad. It would be good, but her intonation is actually terrible
