Led by magnetic frontman Ravid Kahalani, this is a performance that is at once uproarious and deeply spiritual, fusing Afrofunk groove and Yemenite Jewish culture. This nine-piece ensemble in their second appearance at the Museum will not only have you moving, but they’ll also take you on a spiritual exploration. Hallel (הלל), meaning praise in Hebrew, is a Jewish prayer in which Psalms 113 to 118 are recited as an act of thanks. Yemen Blues is one of Israel’s most exciting bands, having garnered world-wide acclaim for their unique and captivating sound.
This performance supported by the Gulshan & Pyarali G. Nanji Family Foundation and with the support from the Government of Canada and Ontario Arts Council.
