Can you do a fragrance 101 video for those of us that know nothing about fragrance? I always find your descriptions of things like eyeshadows so intriguing and so finally am watching a Sunday video!!…. Besides that I think I’ve seen every other video you’ve ever made. Would love to get more of a 101 from your perspective on how to shop for scents and how they’re spoken about in description boxes on websites/product details….!

I totally used to get that plasticy note in vanilla 28 too. But don't worry that scent ages like fine wine. Within a few months the juicy will darken and it becomes warmer and sweeter. That plastic smell will fade too!

Cocoa Woods is definitely an unisex scent in that it has cocoa, but no sweetness. It's one I have to be in the mood for. As a side note I saw it at my Nordstrom Rack tonight! If someone wants it look for it there!

Cocoa Woods was the scent that got me into perfumes because it was the first I had ever smelled that wasn't so flowery/powdery or gave me a headache. I have to be in the mood to wear it, but on me, it pulls a lot more woodsy and gingery, so I think it works better than on someone that pulls more heavily cacao.

I love Cocoa Woods! The dry down is beautiful and I always get compliments when I wear it. For some reason I wear it with earth tones!

Cocoa Woods is my daily driver!! I fell in love with this scent, it’s so unisex with the chocolate on top of all the wood. So sad it’s discontinued but I stocked up. It is the scent that got me into perfumes, still enamored with it years later!

I mix Nest - Cocoa Woods with Comptoir Sud Pacifique - Vanille Coco. The coconut adds the creaminess needed to cut the ginger spice and the syrupy sweetness of the vanilla is toned down a lot by the richness of the strong wood notes in Cocoa Woods. Nest has staying power whereas Vanille Coco doesn't, so they dry down to something dynamic and far more enjoyable when used together than apart.

yayyyy I love scent sunday!! i was excited to hear your thoughts about Black Opium Ellicit Green!! have you tried the Black Opium Extreme that came out in the fall? I got a sample of it and was shocked at how much it smells straight up like sweet coffee. Also cool to see a Nest perfume in here, I really want to love one of them bc the bottles are so beautiful but I haven't found the right one yet. Also my heart now completely belongs to BR540, I got it for christmas and I love it more every day I wear it, the hype is deserved for sure I'm so obsessed. :) I hope you had a nice week off!!

I’m so glad you love Stash. It’s so sexual and unique. But when mentioned it smelled like a hybrid of Jazz Club and By the Fireplace, it made sense. I love both of them. Cocoa Woods… smells great on my skin during cold months. I also add a touch of a vanilla scent to offset that ginger. Madagascar vanilla will do nicely. Love from the spooky Pine Barrens in NJ

I love the orig Black Opium & the notes on the new looked good so I bought a travel spray on launch. I love it but agree it’s so similar. I’m intrigued by the SJP scents. I heard Lovely is similar to Amazing Grace which is a fav of mine but Stash actually sounds more up my alley. Will look for it.

Have you tried the Mix:Bar Vanilla Bourbon perfume? I think you'll really like it just by looking at all the other vanilla perfumes you like. You can get it at Target for less than $20! A total steal!

I suggest checking out Unknown Pleasures by Kerosene. It’s definitely a sweet vanilla fragrance but it also has notes of early grey tea and some citruses that really make it stand out. It’s a beautiful fragrance!

Okay so I’m currently on a scent journey too and one that I stumbled across that I thought might tickle your gourmand fancy is Clinique’s (I know, it’s surprising) My Happy Cocoa & Cashmere. It’s one of those sweet scents that feels familiar and I think would also be really good for layering. They also have a Cookies & Kisses version that I thought I’d like more but nope, Cocoa & Cashmere is where it’s at. I say give it a go!

Pink sugar is very sweet, is like wearing cotton candy, I like the Ariana Grande Cloud has some sweetness with some softness to it, and Black Opium I don't recommend to buy blindly, I like it, but is not liked by all.

Oh my god I feel the same way about Cocoa Woods! Reading the scent profile I thought I would like this, but all three of the main scents that come through for me (white flowers, spice/ginger, and cocoa) don’t fuse together well. Instead of making a whole, it’s three individual accords. It does work a little bit better on the skin, but not enough for me to ever where it. I’m going to give it away to someone now that you mentioned it, it’s taking up good scent space!

I've tried casablanca and it was nice but had a touch of a rubber note I don't care for a tonn.... However, Swiss arabian has an amazing spicy gourmand unisex scent called "shangaf Oud". Its amazing and a signiture scent. I was looking for more apple in casablanca but didn't quite get it... however, Al Rehab Love Apple Perfume Oil is where it's at and what I ended up picking up after casablanca didnt work. All of casablanca but more true caramel apple without going in a "bath and bodyworks" direction and minus the plasticy rubber note of casablanca.

I love Glistening Amber!! It reminds me a lot of a less intense Initio Side Effect to the point that I have both and really don't need both... but it is so nice. Casablanca is another one of my faves. If you can track down a bottle or sample I think you might like Bois 1920 Relativamente Rosso. It's very sweet, kind of smoky, like a brown sugar incense or something. Really unique and weirdly not talked about much.

I recently got Cloud and Thank u, next from Ariana Grande and also Princess by Vera Wang, all blind buys and im really enjoying them! The Ariana Grande ones have this note in common that i enjoy a lot, specially for snuggly times, and now i totally understand about the "medical" note lol Princess is really soft for when my nose is overwhelmed but still need some warm and sweetness. For some reason it reminds me of Flower by Kenzo, but i havent smelled that one in years so im not sure.

Recently I've picked up: Daisy Love eau so sweet Gucci Bamboo V&R Flowerbomb YSL Mon Paris Mugler Angel Muse Miss Dior EDT (2008) Lancôme Idole Aura ...currently waiting on a BR540 Extrait and a PDM Delina dupe from the Oakcha house. Cannot wait! ..,and Guess Seductive Noir was 20 bucks on Amazon for a big 2.5 ounce bottle. Have you tried it? Such a hidden gem! Soooo smooth and such a cozy aromatic vanilla. Would work great on a guy too. Lots of people say that it resembles Mon Guerlain in a way, with sage in place of lavender. Check it out! 10/10 recommend👍🏼

Highly recommend Vanille 44, the Paris city scent from Le Labo. Holy grail vanilla, IMHO.
