I smelled real ambergris some weeks ago, it was 10 to 15 years old and it was stored in a small ivory chatule. It smelled so beautiful warm, soothing, comfy but also it had some freshness and aquatic tones and in my opinion even some faint cinnamon notes but only a little bit. Great experience!

From what I heard with oud it also really depends on not only where it's from but also how long it has been stored/aged.. So theres 200 year old agarwood wich is the top of the top.. I love the history and the intrigue behind oud but it's not my cup of tea I'm more the amber kind of guy. But ambergris and oud are two of the most interesting tools in perfumery and I will always be fascinated by them. Thanks for this great video.. We need more of those brother ✌️

The first scent that came to my mind when you guys were talking about Tonka bean and cumarin was Chanel - Allure Homme Sport Eau Extreme! The moment I first smelled it I had the marzipan feel instantly.. So I guess it has a lot of Tonka / cumarin. ✌️

I just got 3 frags in the mail, the Maison Alhambra clone called Dark Aoud, Ministry of Oud Thailand Oud in Cairo and French Avenue Azzure Oud. I must say oud is a challenging scent. It starts off a bit harsh but eacj of their dry downs is super amazing! Dark Aoud is a clone of TF oud wood. The dry down is like fresh charcoal after a bon fire that got wet in a rainstorm the next day. Thailando Oud smells like a resinois incense then a warm apple pie on the drydown. Azzure Oud starts like a fresh tropical candy, or fruity bag of gummy bears, then it dries into this beautful tradition agarwood with saffron mmm 😊

Went to your guest channel.. I loved it.. Question is:.. How should one think of fragrances when and how to wear . As in pass, the smell and notes, what character are we trying to show cases when wearing a perfume.

Yeah, very informative type of video. Other notes I'd like you to discuss are male and female pheromones, comparing different wood scents, and explaining what to imagine under these terms: ozonic, animalic and mountain air notes. BTW: the first two note pyramids: Sauvage EDT (all the notes I love) and JPG Scandal Le Parfumv via Google Lense.

Great video.! This is a really interesting thing that certain geographic regions in the world can express different perfumery tastes in society. I mean, that probably lots of people from The Middle East would not like fresh French modern perfumery based on Linalool. As well as there are lots of Europeans, who would not like complex and animalic natural oud in perfumes, or olibanum resinoids.

Great video. Having been raised on a chicken and pig farm I can tell you, without a doubt, I was smelling Oud throughout my childhood. Albeit it wasn’t actually Agarwood, but yes a barn with manure, animals, feed and hay smells like Oud.😂 That’s why when I tried King Blue by Amouage, I was like, “Wait a minute. I feel like I’m cleaning out the barns.”😂🤣

Bentley for men Intense and absolute have a great budget patchouli note in them.. And also absolute has the synthetic oud you guys just talked about.. 😁Especially intense, becomes a patchouli bomb on my skin that's the main note.. The boozy character totally disappears. Skin chemistry really comes into play with the bentleys. ✌️

What makes a fragrance creamy and thick? I can’t stand thick creamy fragrances it’s smothering. I want my fragrances to smell like clear air

Probably several factors like the choice of musks and how much Hedione is used in the formulation, more Hedione makes a scent feel more ‘airy’

I smelled oud in Saudi Arabia but didn't like it at all. Oud perfumes i like on the other hand.

I have smell authentic pure oud.. Honestly it smells like a barn where farm animals live.. Oud Parfume i love !!
